Having an MFCA set of rules for the purpose of a tournament at the convention would not be a bad idea at all in my opinion. However, as far as MFCA sponsered events, we have the convention and I don't think the MFCA should start getting into regional events...these are for leagues and different people to put on their own shows. I think regional tournaments are a great way to enjoy the game of Miniature football and is often much more practical than trying to be a league road warrior (travel to league games). In particular, I kind of like how each regional tournament is unique and special in their own way...Buzzfest, SeaWall Brawl, LA open Run, Texas Shootout, etc. etc. etc.

At the MFCA Convo
be prepared to give a powerpoint presentation!
It looks good Chris but I would like to hear it and not just read it. I think it may work. It's just seems to be a lot going on in the hobby....The PhillyNEFL with all 32 teams kicked off, plus the Deuce. The CBSMF is about to start. We have the NHFL going........just wait til next year, this league will be jumping. The MFCA convo. So a lot of people are focused on some of those things. Just be ready to answer questions when they start coming! Great job on the proposal Nat'l

MFCA tournament proposal
Will try to provide answers as best I can.
First of all this is purely my idea of what I would like to see. My reason for posting this is purely to get opinions from MFCA members, non members or anyone who frequents this forum and to decide whether or not it is even worth pursuing any futher. I am not trying to take away from anybody else's exisiting league or tournament. If there is one already in your area then embrace it, actively participate in it and do all you can to help promote it. Just trying to find out if there is enough interest in offering another league and/or tournament format under the banner of the MFCA to get more coaches involved in playing and promoting the game and hobby. Why do I want MFCA sanctioned leagues and tournaments? For 12 years I have been trying to get a league started in this area (the Music City MFA). Nashville and Middle Tennessee just is not the hotbead for electric football that Detroit, Dallas-Fort Worth, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Baltimore/Washington DC, New York, Philadelphia, Mid-Ohio or a lot of other places that have large electric football followings are. I need the help of an oganization like the MFCA that I can refer people to and say "Hey, go here. This is where you can find all you need to know about how the game is played today and what kind of equipment you need to have. This is the rules that we will play by locally and you can go to this tournament that is within our region and meet and play against other coaches under this same set of rules and then go to the National Convention and play in that tournament under this same set of rules and meet even more people that love this game as much as you do." Most of the things in this scenario are already in place. The one thing missing is the one set of rules and/or standards that would allow a person to go anywhere in the country and play against any other coach in the country and at least have a chance to be effectively competetive. I realize a lot is going on in the hobby right now and that is great. Without a league in my area my main focus is on the MFCA and what I can do to help advance and promote the MFCA. (Apologies to TomKat, Brian Fox and the Bluegrass EFL, you know I will still help all I can with it, but being 2 hours away makes that hard)

Locations
Locations is something that the Regional Reps would have to work out and decide where the best location would be that would draw the most participants. Ideally locations would rotate within a region from year to year.
As an example: The South East Atlanta GA, Birmingham AL, Nashville TN, Orlando FL, Charlotte NC, Greenville SC, etc.
