CBSMF in the Deep South: Amazing What Happens
It's amazing what a little scratching of the back will do for a region. I was talking with one of the higher ups in the CBSMF the other day and he was so excited over the SEC becoming an active member of the CBSMF and what that may mean for the game.
Everyone knows Atlanta is a hotbed for the game but now, from some perspective, this will make more coaches willing to travel down south to play in tournaments and play against SEC teams in the years to come. Sometimes you have to give a little to get a lot. The CBSMF needed the SEC to be a strong conference and just by the response of a weekend meeting in the DS, where 14 coaches decided to join the CBSMF instead the 4 we thought, it is outstanding news. Right away, it becomes a power conference in the likes of the Big 10 (12 or 14 teams), PAC 10 (12 or 14 teams), SWC(12 teams), and the ACC/Big East (10 teams) as well as with the other conferences, including Independents will make the lure to go South very interesting. Hats off to the SEC for coming aboard and I know Greg Hardmon will give you all the necessary information to be a great conference. Welcome aboard conference member and we look forward to seeing the action in the SEC. I am not sure if RAFIYQ has a camera but now is the time to get CBSMF Broadcast ready because it's gonna be some great action played all over the country! Reg |

Leonard, it is good to talk with you
Leonard,
Each conference makes their schedule up according to member schools. When you say "conference play", are you talking about schools in the SEC playing against each other? If so, I would imagine that would happen because that will be the bulk of your games. If you can play out of conference games, that will help your RPI/ranking. So I think Greg can answer this question better. I am not sure who the SEC commissioner is and Greg may have that answer. You can reach him at (419)508-8994. Reg |
