Default Dogwood Miniature Football League DMFL

I am currently in my 47th Super Bowl Tournament but lit me tell you a little bit about my league.

I have the standard league setup AFC-NFC 8 Divisions. In 2006 I expanded from the current NFL's 32 team to 34 by putting franchises in Los Angeles and San Antonio. I actually moved the St. Louis Rams bact to LA where they belonged and the expansion team is the St. Louis Jackels( Uniforms are an exact copy of the U. of New Mexico ) and play in the NFL North with the Rams back to the West. The San Antonio franchise is a rebirth of the Oilers. How could that classic uniform not be in football. In 2008 I expanded again to even out the divisions. I added 6 new teams to bring my league up to 40.
The AFC East got the Richmond Rebels. Gray uniforms, gray helmet with a confederate flag on it. The AFC North got the Milwaukee Wildcats. Uniform is the ( Kansas State Wildcats ) The AfC South already had the Oilers. The AFC West got the Portland Sharks and their uniform is Miggles fantasy Moonsharks team.

In the NFC the East welcomed the Orlando Thunder who wear the Air Force uniforms and look great. The NFC North already had the St. Louis team who are doing quite well. The NFC South added the Memphis Blues. They wear a white jersey with royal blue pants and helmets with black trim. The helmet has a musical note in white on them. Cool team. The NFC West added the Santa Fe Warriors who wear the Florida State uniforms.

This year I expanded again adding 2 more teams. The newly formed Oklahoma City Outlaws became the 6th team in the AFC West. They wear the U. of Florida uniforms. I painted over the gators on the helmets and added a large "O" like a lasso. The NFC welcomed the Louisville Mustangs to the NFC South. They wear the new SMU uniforms.

In 2011 I will be doing my final expansion to bring my league up to 48 teams. Here are the new franchises. The AFC East will be getting the Brooklyn Bulldogs and the will wear the Fresno State uniforms. The AFC North will be adding the Columbus Knights. Yes a 3rd AFC team in OHIO! The Knights will wear the uniforms of Michigan State. The AFC South will get the Birmingham Bobcats who will wear the Clemson uniforms. The West got Oklahoma City this year.

The NFC East will have the Hartford Whalers who will wear the U. of Hawaii uniforms. The NFC North will get the Omaha Wranglers who will be wearing the U. of Wyoming uniforms. The South already added Louisville. Finally the NFC West will add the San Jose Spartans and will wear the San Jose State uniforms. I will list the divisions by the teams who have had the most success over 46 seasons in my next post.

How many games do you play in a season? How long is each game? 34, 36, 48 teams, holy smoke, that's gotta be a lot of games. Where do you find the time to play them??????
