Default Grass textures

Here is the Grass Texture I made for my field (I had to take down the resolution on it for the post)
... scale it down... trim off the bottom bit and repeat across the field

I added some mud textures to my field to make it look a little rough

anyone else have grass textures they want to share?

Stay tuned for pics of my field in progress

On my own field, I just used a noise filter effect (with GIMP). it give a nice effect for upside the field.

the real important thing is to have good resolution (150dpi minimum) to make a good print artwork

your texture is great, by the way

Default Grass texture

Lindyhopper,

May I ask what program you use to create the grass texture? How do you make it cover the entire field with the hashmarks? I know about creating layers, is that how you create your field? Sorry I am asking many questions, but I am trying to create a field cover from scratch.

I used Adobe Photoshop CS3

I followed the directions from this tutorial with a few tweaks to fit what I wanted.

I made a grass rectangle bigger than I wanted it so i could crop off the parts I didnt want and shrink it to tile on the larger field.

http://www.myinkblog.com/2008/06/11/...-in-photoshop/

for lines and numbers I did solid white and took down the opacity a tiny bit

then I took one of the scrubbier looking brush tools and did a few layers of different browns for some dirt over the top
(down the middle: a lot between the hashes at the middle and at the goal lines, and then some other spots... Less is more i thought.)

I will post more about my field project as it comes together.
