Computer software for keeping track of the game
Sitting here thinking of things that would be neat to have in EF. We all have computers are we wouldn't be on here, and most of us have laptops or the new super cheap netbooks. I was thinking it would be neat to have a program that would make keeping stats easier.
Something like this: Enter Home team: Enter Visitor: Winner of Toss: Play #1: Line of scrimmage. ( ) R or P If R, ball carrier, yds gained (enter positive or negative number) Tackler Play #2: Line of scrimmage. ( ) This value would be automatic depending on the results of play #1. In other words it would not be a spread sheet, but it would be a series of questions that you would type in answers to. When the game is over, you could print out a sheet that has every play result on it, rushing stats, passing stats, etc. What do you guys think? Is there someone out there who can do this??? Doug |

Game Tracker
I came up with this a couple years ago to keep track of game stats and help with solitaire or practice play.
It works out of a spreadsheet in Excel... Sheet 1 is the play caller, auto kicker, and fumble/penalty generator. Sheet 3 contains the stat tracker and game summary. Instructions for the stat tracker begin on Sheet 3. I have zipped the file for easy download. Let me know if you run into any bugs...

Help with Play Caller
If the play caller sheet isn't working, it probably is because an excel function needs to be added called randbetween which generates random numbers.
If this function is not available, try either of the following: 1) Go to Tools, select Add-ins. In the dialog box check the Analysis Tool Pack. Try hitting F9 again. It should get it started. If not, try closing the file and then reopen. 2) If you don't see the Analysis Tool Pack then run the Setup program to install the Analysis ToolPak. After you install the Analysis ToolPak, you must enable it by using the Add-Ins command on the Tools menu.

Play Calling Sheet
Roller
Just wanted to say thanks for posting this sheet. I tried it yesterday during a solitaire game between the Titans and Colts. The stats sheet worked well as did the play calling sheet. It made the game go a lot faster. Is there a way to add additional plays to the chart? I'm trying to make separate call sheets to simulate play calling schemes for each team. |

Can this program keep track of two teams...or do you have to open two spreadsheets to track two teams? I will give it a whirl and would like to use it for stat keeping on game days...but I don't know that it would be much of an improvement over pencil and paper, except for the fact the tabulations are automated! Neat tool there.....
