The Seawall Brawl says Congratulations and Thank You!!!
Let me start this post by saying this was a loooooonnnnnng weekend and I still haven't recovered from it. I’d also like to say THANK YOU to everybody who came to Tidewater just to hang out with us. Last year I was fooled into thinking running a tournament wasn’t that hard because everything went according to plan from start to finish. This years edition showed me how difficult and grinding a tournament can be on its’ hosts. Not everything stayed on schedule, and having more people (this year than last) really made things hard to control. It truly had me contemplating whether or not I want to do this again next year.
Though I was pleased to see our numbers were up from last year, I want to take the time to acknowledge those coaches who couldn’t be in attendance due to personal issues that they are going through. You guys were very much missed and you will ALL continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. Okay enough gloom and doom… Here are some recaps of award winners. MFU Awards are known as “The Brawlie” MFU Innovator Award: Bruce Watts, Damon Lucas, Mark Klingbeil, Chris Fields, and Anthony Burgess. Beatiful
Man I had a wonderful time there . Mark and Joel are two of the most honorable men I have ever talked with , and if you guys ever need anything just call and I will do what ever I can to help .
And all the Love and respect that was there was felt by all . This is what this hobby is all about . No big " I's ",or little " U's " . Just playing and being there for one another and doing what you can to advance this hobby . This event was a major win for this hobby it self . On behalf of the MPFL and its coaches I want to say thank you for every thing and Lord willing I will be there next year .

Excellent, awesome, tremendous, and stupendus effort!!!. It is so encouraging to see so many tournaments with increasing participation. We are definitely moving in the right direction, and for a great cause. Hopefully my baseball team won't make the playoffs and I can come next year. Nothing but good vibrations! AB: If I didn't make the Fantastic Four again, or if DC didn't Two-Peat or if RR didn't get what he's desreved for years, I can honestly say meeting you and SEEING the MPFL system live and in person was worth my trip. Keep doing what you do and let's see if we can get it West of the Mississippi!
Tom: I'm glad you were well enough to holla at me Tuesday and I wish you a full recovery so we can see ya next year. |

Brawl Thoughts...
The Seawall Brawl brought together many coaches from across the country. We came in the spirit of fellowship for the betterment of our hobby. I’m proud of the way the coaches conducted themselves throughout the entire weekend. Friday we had our coaches’ dinner and awards, followed by the MFCA skills challenge, and the Green Room Rumble.
Saturday our kid’s tournament, and qualifiers started the festivities. Then after a power outage, which covered ¼ of our city, we were able to play our elimination rounds and have our coaches’ mixer. The mixer was held on the deck of the hotel’s restaurant, where the weather was wonderful and the scenic view of the Norfolk skyline was beautiful. We then went back to the ballroom to play the eliminators all night long. We also had the finals of the Kid’s tournament. Sunday the MPFL system was demonstrated, and Reggie Rutledge taught a class in figure customization. The finals of the Green Room Rumble took place as well as the semi-finals of the Seawall Brawl. The media stopped by just as we were starting our Championship game between D.C. and Tookie. During the weekend, coaches were purchasing goodies from vendors and other coaches. Guys were socializing with coaches they hadn’t met before and families were bonding with each other. The family atmosphere was in full effect here in Tidewater. I’m glad several coaches brought their families to our event. I also want to thank all of the coaches who generously loaned us their boards for the Rumble and the Brawl. Thanks Guys!!! - Don Smith (more thoughts and pictures to follow) Here’s a picture of the TWO-TIME, TWO-TIME, SEAWALL BRAWL WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION… “THE KID” D.C. SMITH |

That is too much!!!!
He's starting to look like Mayweather or some of those champs that come in with their belts. That's a good look Don, going with the belts instead of the traditional trophy. Tell DC to promise me that we can take a picture. Me, him, and his belts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great job with everything. NATIONAL
