Default sticks and stones may break your dome

then you may realize pass simulation is just as important as using a tdq FOR THE OVERALL HEALTH OF THE HOBBY.

I was watching the NC STATE game last week and the announcer gave credit to leading a receiver. He said. it is amaxzing how a quarterback can lead a receiver into different areas of the field. he said, THAT IS A MAJOR SKILL TO FOCUS ON AN AREA AND THROW A PASS WITHOUT THE RECEIVER BREAKING STRIDE. " THATS WHAT THE STICKS DO "

I have noticed there are several league around town that still do not use the sticks. CARE TO EXPLAIN WHY ? sticks are a method of passing, not a personal rule.

ttqb or tdq is a partial skill, not the entire package. Like eddie murphy said of stevie wonder, you want to impress me, " here take the wheel for a while "

do something more impressive,

1)run your pass play

2)find the open receiver

3)stop the board.

4)place tdq/ttqb down

*** CUT THE BOARD BACK ON AND HIT THE RECIVER WHILE HE IS MOVING. You have no choice but to throw it where you think he will end up by the time the ball gets into his area. HUM, SOUNDS LIKE THE STICKS METHOD TO ME. THATS THE REAL SKILL. Whats being done now is just being a dodgers pitcher throwing to the catcher. Both are standing/squating still. none are running. The stick itself is the simualtion of the runner still moving. He must run and catch the ball via stick placement. It is a skill to place the stick in the right area in a certain amount of seconds. 10 in the pro set league.

pass placement sticks are one of the biggest finds in the history of miniature football. MIGGLE DID NOT FIND IT ! bUT YOU STILL WANT TO USE WHAT THEY THREW AT YOU BEFORE YOUR HIGH SCHOOL PROM.

" Don corleone, times have changed " quote from don bartzini

So, why would you leave out this valuble method in your league.
I have not heard an educational answer to this in the last 6 years.
I dont think anyone has one except, its not in our rules.

ITS A METHOD OF PASSING, NOT A RULE.

The reason why many coaches get discouraged because valubles are not included because of what !

THIS SHOULD BE IN EVERY LEAGUE AS AN EITHER OR. yOU CHOOSE YOUR SWORD DURING THE GAME.

The problem is, people want to use their swords but only offer many coaches a BUTTER KNIFE.

THATS WHAT WRONG WITH OUR HOBBY PERIOD POINT BLANK.

ONE MUST SEE THE WHOLE FIELD AND NOT JUST THE CHEERLEADERS

Dre, I am a purist of sorts when it comes to MF, I believe all passes should be thrown via the TTQB if the coach is physically able.

Those who are not physically able should be free to ise sticks, as dice passing in head to head competition is really lame in my opinion.

Sticks are much more exciting than dice and definitely allow for a much more realistic pass play for both sides.

Shaking dice for a pass play pales in comparison. I have played against both and hands down sticks rule! I fail to see the reason more people can't get beyond the sticks for those physically unable to throw.

I play with sticks in my solitaire games and love it.

I, personally, like the hybrid of both that the NHFL was using. The attak (sp?) method, using teh sticks to set up leading the receiver and placing the target at the end of the sticks, use the ttqb to hit the target. Hit the target with the pass, run your man to the ball.
I also like the idea that you showed me at the MFCA convention, that was a cool and fair way to utilize dice into the equation.

Default THANX

THANX SHAB AND 5-13

For stepping up and speaking out on this topic. Shab, i will show you what i showed 5-13 using dice and sticks. let me know what you think.

I can no longer support many things in this hobby due to lack of interest and unwilling natures to entertain all aspects and ideas. An old saying says you will never please everyone so you may as well spend your valuble time doing what pleases you. We live in a land of too many cooks in too many restaurants. So now its time to pick your favortite eatery. The only thing that will save attendance anywhere is a universal ruleset. The only events that were at that point were my first sea wall brawl and the miggle tourney in baltimore.

Why did those 2 events work ? Thats what the hobby needs to explore.
miggle in b-more was crazy. sea wall brawl was like its name. WALL TO WALL.
This hobby could be huge if we would just let it. I have always done pr work for many coaches products and events. Just out of the love for them and the hobby as a whole. but when i post for change and advancement the support is nowhere to be found. At least one thing i know, no one can ever say i promoted me first. I always considered others interest first. But now im glad i see how it really is in our world.

For me, as a guy who never played MF in his childhood, TTQB represents nothing.

As a former wargamer, I'm just not interested in that "action game" feature in MF. If I want action/physical skills game, I play subbuteo, or next, table hockey, or even pool. I like MF on a coaching point of view game. I train the guys, I make the plans, I give orders, they try to do what I want on the field, I try to be smarter than the other coach. Smarter, not more dexterous.

Sticks are fast to use once we get used too. As fast as ttqb I saw on league videos. It needs to develop a good knowledge on your team (how the athletes move). It's exciting, because on a pass attempt, you can be intercept, or simply miss the pass.

It's also interesting because with scale sticks (refering your boards), making some bomb passes is difficult. Slot passes makes you scared when you're on defense. And when you're on defense, you can react (pivots) and not just see if your opponent complete the pass or not.

Just my 2 cents. I respect all game rules and styles, but since Dre askes for what we are thinking about...I give what I think

I do not disagree with anything that you have posted on here ...in fact in many cases I have agreed with your threads....but What I am trying to wrap my brain around is that you continue to join and participate in Leagues that do not offer your preferences

So why not play in the styles of play that better suit your preferences????
I know for a fact that you try and support everyone and also that you Have some great ideas....but you seem so unhappy with so many things that the hobby offers....
You are definitely looking for changes in the Hobby....so why not create a Rule set that would make you Happy.......You have great insight and are our greatest supporter...So I'm sure if you created something most would support you.....
