Sweet Draft Figures
I was leafing through an old SI yesterday, April 30th-Adrian Peterson on the cover. There was a big write up of the then-upcoming NFL draft, which was represented by a great picture from the 1965 draft. If anyone has this issue on hand, or knows what I'm talking about, find the picture and dig those 'dolls' on each teams respective desk. They are the size of old-school GI Joe men (the originals), and are wearing cloth uniforms, black cleats, have helmets and are holding footballs. Does anyone know anything about them, has anyone ever seen one of these in a sports museum? Were these ever used for anything other than draft day accessories? I'm not looking for one, I just really dug them, and am curious if any of you know anything about them.
Pretty cool stuff anyhow |

i did not see the article or the pictures, but if you look on ebay, and search vintage, or old football figures, sometime they have several of them, i know they made a Namath, a Stauback and a Unitas in the 70's, another compoany made a few during the 80's too.

Draft figures
I have a old school Packers uniform and a Minnesota Vikings uniform that fit G.I. Joe size action figures. Sounds like what you are talking about, Coach. They are complete with jersey, pants, socks, and shoes in excellent shape. I replaced the original helmets with pocket pros throwback helmets. The uniforms are from the Olympic Hero line from the late 60's. I am willing to trade both uniforms for teams, decals, or bases. I will throw in 2 generic G.I. Joe looking figures if that helps. Contact me at batmex1@hotmail.com and I will try to take some pics and email them. I still havent figured out how to post pics here . Or you can give me a holler at 505-797-5493 after 7pm New Mexico time. Hope someone can dig these uniforms . They are pretty cool.
