RAMS SILENCE THUNDER 21-7. ( photos + new Dickerson figure in action )
TODAY IN THE NJLMFL DIVISIONAL ROUND CONFERENCE SEMI-FINALS
Los Angeles Rams at Orlando Thunder....Epcot Stadium The champs of the east met the champs of the west today in NJLMFL playoff action. In the first home playoff game for the expansion Orlando Thunder the Rams dominated most of the day in a 21-7 victory. Los Angeles could have won by more but an awful performance by QB Vince Ferragamo kept Orlando in the game. The LA quarterback had 2 interceptions and a lost fumble. It was the Rams thundering ground game and solid defense that won the game. After a scoreless 1st quarter Stephen Jackson scored on a 7 yd run to give the Rams a 7-0 lead which they took into the half. After a 3rd QTR interception on a tipped ball by Orlando DL Leon Lett led to the tying TD Ferragamo was benched. Orlando QB Carson Palmer hit Jeremy Shockey for the game tying TD from 18 yds out. Jim Everett entered the game and settled things down for the Rams. The Rams took control of the game in the 4th QTR when Stephen jackson scored on his 2nd 7 yd run to give LA a 14-7 lead early in the 4th QTR. The Rams denied the Thunder on their next possession and after a shanked punt gave LA the ball on the Orlando 35 the Rams scored again on a 9 yd run by Eric Dickerson to make it 21-7. The Rams D shut down Orlando the rest of the way and gained the victory. The Rams will now play Atlanta in the NFC Championship game next week. Dickerson
This new Eric Dickerson figure done by Reggie at footballfigures.net is exceptional. If you don't already own this piece it would be a great idea to either purchase one of make one up. It is well balanced and sort of just glides across the board and this is on a standard untweaked rookie speed base. To see a figure like this on the field reminds me of watching him on TV back in the 80's. To bring the greatest players of the NFL back to life is fascinating and quite a site to see. It's like watching the Field of Dreams. I think I'm going to put in corn fields all around my board.
