![]() One of the great things about this game is that it gives you an opportunity to create your own world of miniature football. When I began my journey here in Texas many moons ago, I created a weight standard aimed at the necessities of the day. At that time, I wanted to create a tournament called the Texas Shootout. Long story short, my friend Dirk Thomas and I spent a few hours talking from Akron, Ohio to here. He had the scale. I had the knowledge of what I wanted. Thus the 3.2 gram scale was created.
At that time, I never asked anyone to use that scale. As a matter of fact, I endured many slings and arrows for doing that. Several years later with the introduction of FF.Net figures, I encountered a similar criticism with a 4.0 gram standard I established. I wanted my players to be able to play in the DFW league. It split the league because many did not want to support what I was doing. I always held on to that as a motivation. Today, I find myself wanting to bring more excitement to my personal game. No one ever has to do this but I feel for my own personal growth in the game, this was a necessary change for me. I have used my solitaire league as a test bench to see if it works. It does with great success. If I ever decided to have a league, I would go this method. I love the 4.0 grams method but the CWD method is more fun for me now. Amazing what happens when a "crazy man" get a chance to perfect things and play the game he loves! As this concept begins to develop, I will definitely keep those who are interested informed on what it brings to the table. Shown below is a video regarding this method. This is just an introduction of what it is all about. I invest the time and energy to make certain my MF experience is the best it could be. Those that play with me and follow what I do will feel and see that passion too. PART 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Last edited by Reginald Rutledge : 12-26-2010 at 11:19 AM. |

![]() Reg,
I was thinking the same thing with the weight distribution. Hoped that if you started another league you would go with this concept. Just put your whole team in a basket and weigh them all at one time. (Of course zero out the weight of the basket first.) I think this would add more realism to everyones team. You create the athletes to fit your style. Outstanding.. Joel

![]() I have thought of this too, but I then realized that some people will try to take advantage of it, and will have 7.0 linemen and 1.0 5th string WR's. It will work great in solitaire, but I think for it to work in competitive leagues you will have to limit the number of players, perhaps to even a 22 or 23 man roster.
Actually, I think limiting the number of players would force balanced ability at each position, and even more life like effects on the game. You can have a very heavy run blocking line, but that will truly limit your passing...etc.

![]() interesting point regarding policing of something like this Gridironpainter. This is something where if I had a league, very strict rules regarding player registration would be in place. You would have to have a Security of Player Personnel and Operations who is beyond reproach, plus when you create an ideal league, you would want guys with like minds and ethical behavior to know that "Yes, we want to win" but not at the risk of unethical behavior.
I love when guys want to win but not at the risk of unethical behavior. That's why it makes it difficult for me to play in leagues today. It's not the competition. I love that part of the game, but I don't even want to have to think, there is something fishy going on. It can be done with a competition league concept and it can be done with a 35 and 40 man roster. You've just got to create leagues where all the individuals unite for one common cause. If you get guys with like minds and behavior, you definitely lessen the chance of questionable behavior. ethics. or morals are questioned. The CWD Method works FANTASTIC in solitaire and it would work equally FANTASTICALLY in competition leagues. And yes Joel, you would get to create a team in your own image. If you want a great wide receiver, put 10 grams on him, but do understand, if he is lost for 8 weeks, that's him and that base, and you do not get to put another 10 gram WR in that spot. You've got to take from the Inactive Roster, which only has 5 players totaling 20 grams! Reg |

![]() Why not just put the figures on bases and let them be what they are? If you want a heavy line, use heavy figures. When will it end? It has gone from 3.2 to 4.0 and now you will have a RB at 7.0?

![]() Tomkat,
This is something I do for my own personal interest, not something I want or even ask anyone else to do. It's just something I like to do that keeps me excited about the game. Nothing more, nothing less. Reg |

I like the idea Reg , but as gridironpainter stated . This might be hard to police in a league. |

![]() one that Michael Robertson had proposed a few years back. We were discussing ways to do this but one of the problems when you play with guys from all walks of life is that everyone's intentions in the game is not the same. So to police any of these methods would be difficult - UNLESS you established a league with guys who think like you and want the same thing that you do and where ethics take a front seat in the game.
Like I had stated near the start, you'd definitely have to have strict enforcement policies on personnel management. It could be done if all were on board. The funny thing is - they would have so much fun trying to create their team. I liked Joel's suggestion too of zeroing out a basket and then putting all your 35 players in the basket to reach 157.50 grams. At that point, the players could then be registered just to let everyone know who weighed what. I just know, I am having too much fun right about now, knowing some teams are definitely better with the run than the pass. Reg |
