Do we have the right to pick and choose?
Should we just be content with having the opportunity to play with whomever wants to play or do we have the right be discriminatory in who we spend our time with.
For some of us, we've been a part of leagues (sometimes founding leagues) but have found that it just does not appeal to us anymore. As you continue to play in these leagues year-after-year, you find that "Just maybe I want to go in a different direction" attitude is what you carry everyday. Do I have that right to get out or do I stay in it and try to make things better? You find that you do not want to deal with people who do not support your product. Do you stay for the sake of the league or move on and do your own thing? You find that it is taking up too much of your time, consuming weekends and sometimes holidays. Do you check out or try to make things work? One of the big things I love about the potential to have a league is being able to play on the Internet, pla in stadiums, use my products, and pick and choose who I want to spend my final years on this earth hanging around. Is that so wrong? Or you do what you do! I went out to eat with a friend of mine, Barry Stephenson, and my wife and we started talking about leagues. There was discussions about new leagues but Rose also let it be understood, "No league is Utopia". Maybe she's right but I also know I like to determine my own destiny in who I pick and choose. Reg |

If you are the Founder..... Yes you do have the right to pick and choose....But when you start something should you finish it or walk away and let it fall by the wayside????????....What I start....I plan on finishing and for me when they don't comply....they can say bye bye.....
We need quality not quantity.....

I BELIEVE
you have the right to be choosey, especially if you are the commish of a league, if coach's dont show up to play year after year, or cheats thier leaguemates game after game, thier just wasting the leagues time ,especially if you have alot of coach's who love and repect the game and each other ,your wastiing thier time also,so yes you do have the right to look out for your league.

Definately, Quality Over Quantity.....
I don't think you should discriminate on who you let play in your
league, initially, unless you just know the person is a train-wreck waiting to happen. You don't need this.Tell them no.Be honest and tell them why,also....Anyone else,I say give them a chance. If they blow it then it's time to go.Some may try to get back in and this is when you weigh all the Pros' and Cons of why they should or shouldn't be let back in and whatever it was that got them kicked out in the first place. If it's No then it's No. If that's discrimination,so be it.If you choose to give them a second chance that's OK too,if they deserve it.Just don't forget what got you and them to this point to start with. I'm all for giving someone a chance,IF they deserve it.If they don't,they don't.And there's usually a good reason(s) why. One other thing.Don't go by "hear-say". Form your own opinions on someone.Atleast give them that respect. I'm guilty of having done this, only to find out the cat telling me/us all the BS was the trouble maker.I'll leave it at that....... I'll play anyone once.
If you win, fantastic. If I win, that's cool too. If you win and you're cool, or you lose and you're cool, I'll play you again. If you win and you're a jerk, I won't play you again. If you lose and you're a jerk, I won't play you again, despite the satisfaction I might get from beating you because you're a jerk. Ed
