True National Convention

I don't get into the mix on to many topics, but I have liked reading about the possibility of having one true "Miniature" football event under one roof, All companies represented, and a tourney for 6 or so of the most used rules. How about something like this:

Have it at the time Miggle has theirs in January (Sorry Miggle, I like Mike L. but it is time for Miggle to go with the flow of the hobby!) This will force Miggle to come in line, or get strangled out.

It will be called the National Miniature Football Convention
(To avoid copyright issues!)

This year in Vegas, but then rotate it between 4 venues (West, Midwest, South, and East)...or just have it in Vegas every year.

Every year a "Meet Manager" will be assigned to organize their preferred rules event. Create sign-ups on this site for organizational purposes. Then post a tourney schedule so people can plan their trip. (Set a minimum sign-up number with registation fee (nominal) for criteria to get on the "docket" at this year's event) Limit the number of tourneys to the top 5-7 based on actual sign-up numbers with paid registration fees.

All tourneys are single elimination (so sign-up for as many tourneys as you want!) There will always be the Green Room for friendly games between coaches ousted from the other tourneys. I myself would probably spend a lot of time here!

All companies are welcome via sign-up for table space...all are on equal footing, all can sponsor what ever event they want etc.

...These are just some thoughts. I really don't think we will ever get to a true "National" set of rules without stepping on many people's toes and alienating a segment of our hobby. I say validate everybody! (Maybe even figure out a solitaire event)

I would love to see this happen as soon as this January. We could still have all the various tourneys...but this event in January would be the "grand daddy of them all!
