National Think Tank Round 2-Equipment discussions
Please read think tank 1 and based on the suggestions given lets discuss what the final equipment allowances will be. Keep this discussion civil!! Do not put anothers ideas down but make positive suggestions and have sound reasoning for your choice.
Overall I feel that the choices that people were making come down to this. All manufactured EF figures currently produced are allowed. Custom figures are allowed but must fit in a box. Box size is ? How many on a roster? Light on defense dark on offense or other options?? Weights are all over the place???? Can light figures be weighted? Can heavy figures be drilled out to lighten them? What methods are allowed to weight them? Lineman weighted differently?? How do we regulate and check these men at a National level?? Any manufactured balls are allowed. 620 fields until such a time that an affordable larger mass produced option is available Bases-Most allowed with boat bases limited to how many??? No boiling These are just some of the issues. Please discuss any and all of these and other equipment that I did not mention. Please discuss the things that are important to you. Defend your choices with sound reasons and keep an open mind. There is much to discuss and everyones opinion is valid! Go for it......

equipment
Any manufactured electric football figure. Custom figures must have all parts from an electric football figure and fit in a figure box. The box must be no wider than a fab five DB figure and no longer than the longest FF.com figure. Accesories like facemasks, chinstraps and any and all decals should be allowed. A 620 field either plain or with a field cover. Full field dressing kits. Goal posts, first down markers, stadiums ect.. Basically anything should be allowed as lomg as it doesn't hamper the field of play. Binder clips for tweaking the field and tape for the speed bolt. All manufactured bases tweaked but not boiled. No plastic, foreign objects, glue, paint or sealer allowed on the outside of the base. The base and figure should be two seperate pieces. All manufactured footballs to be supplied by the home team. Passing simulation sticks and magnetic footballs. Sorry, but I do not like the TTQB or passing targets. Oh yeah, weight. I've never played with a weighted team so I really don't have an opinion yet. Open for discussion. (sorry about spelling)

Oh I forgot JENNINGS FIGURES. If I can ever get my hands on some. (lol)
I don't even know what a boat base is. White jerseys on offense. Nothing better than a crowd going bezerk when a visiting team is trying to drive the length of the field for the winning touchdown. Dark jersey defense. Nothing like a home crowd going bezerk when a home teams defense is trying to stop a last minute winning drive. 24 man roster. 11 defense, 11 offense, punter, kicker. Punter replaces QB when offense is punting. Kicker replaces any figure of the offenses choosing. Why only 24 because some people may not have the means and time to field a 33 man roster. I know what people are saying. They may want to change the players for special teams because they want them to do different things. But my suggestion on that will be in the rules section. |

equipment discussion
coaches,
In a nutshell 1) All ef figure's from all manufactures, it's fair to all and all fig's would add an element of excitement and creativity. Customs are a must, it ads an element of realism. 2) all footballs, painted tip in neon orange yellow or green. this paint on the tip would make it easier on the eyes to see if the ball hits a open player downfield. 3) Fields, how about this. lets go 620, 308, and scale size. If coaches can provide any of the three for game play that will be fine. nothing smaller than 620. But eventually we all will be bumped up to scale size. those who already have one will be ahead of the game. My reason for wanting these boards implemented is for pure space for more creative game play. 4)strategy divider, this is one great tool for creativity and the element of suprise via calling great plays without the off or def knowing your set up. 5)weight, 3.8 is a beautiful thing due to ff.com figs being in that range. Please note, it's is much easier to add weight to a buzzball/miggle/itz fig than to hollow out a ff.com fig. It's crazy to cut the fig in half, get a dremel tool and hollow out the figure then to just glue a bb or nut under a base. 3.8 3.5 and 3.2. , we can make it mandatory to mix and match fig's to balance things out. Example let say we have a 30 man roster ( 8 subs) we can go 10 ff.com figs 10 buzzball figs and 10 miggle figs, we can vote on how many ff buzz or migg can be on the field at a time. This is so you dont overload your team with a certain figure set to maximize your weight to over power your opponent (ie: 11 ff.com fig's at 3.8 vs 8 buzzball and 3 miggles at 3.5 and 3.2). I hope we can come to an agreement broadway-dre P.S I forgot to mention springs on the kickers and ttqb's for better kicking and getting zip on the ball. pass simulation sticks also a must, it's a comfortable feeling knowing you have a choice to pass with either ! lets get this thing in black and white or written in stone so a massive recruiting process can begin. This package will be one great recruiting tool for new comers to read, they wont be able to resist. Last edited by mantaraydre : 12-13-2006 at 06:46 PM. |

standardization
Wolf:
I think the key thing is the "Kiss" principal (Keep it simple stupid!) I think multi weights for positions, or limiting figures or bases at certain positions are great ideas...but are somewhat confusing. I would just go with one max weight for bases, figures, and/or total 3.6 or 3.8 would be fine. No boiled bases, or adding anything to the bases. Bases should be allowed to be shaved if too heavy. Let it all in pending fitting in the "box". As long as it fits in the box and makes weight, and resembles a football player, I think it should be allowed. (the box size equal to Reggies tallest fig, and as wide as the miggle 67 QB/DB) I think we should go offense in dark jerseys and defense in whites becasue many in the hobby already have their teams set up that way. A lot of tourneys already require that. Use both stick and TTQB passing. But if you use the TTQB, I think that you should still use the NHFL target just because it is easy to tell if the pass is complete.(you could replace the intended receiver with the target, then pick the target up, replace the receiver, and let'em roll! Board speed:Should be able to be adjusted if my kick returner or offensive play is right on the motor. |
