Default I Still Love The Sweet Science

I still love boxing in its purest form (two fighters displaying their stragic skills to best one another). I think that Football is just a violent as boxing. As someone mentioned on this thread, look at Frazier, & Ali. Yes, I do agree that the Science has damaged both great fighters which is unfortunate, but we are now realizing that participating in H.S., College, & Professional Sports can lead to serious injuries, and illnesses. Look at what has happening to the NFL Greats who paved the way for the players of today to make the mega $ they earn. Medical researchers have found that concussions lead to dimentia, Altimers, as well as other illnesses. So, for those who say that boxing is too dangerous, do you put football in that catagory as well?

Default No Question of the Link

Coach,

Great observation. I suffer from severe migrane headaches, which was brought on by taking too many hits as a runningback. Back in the day, when RBs weighed 150 and 160 lbs in high school, I carried the ball anywhere from 20 to 30 times in ball games. I caught about 4-5 passes and played safety plus kick-off returner.

I took some serious shots and I gave out some serious shots. At that time, you're not thinking about your body, just making the play. Now, with father time catching up with me, I have severe migranes and under doctor medication. It does not help. I've got arthritis in my arm which causes me not to sleep. I sleep about 3-4 hours a night.

I just had 2 days of migranes where I was totally shut down! This happens from time to time as a remainder of what I did in my earlier life.

Reg,

One word on those migranes...Relpax. It's the only thing I have tried that has worked.

Default Reg, how are your sinus

I had bad migranes that would totally imobilize me. Come to find out that I had a sinus infection. I'm sure that your numerous head on collisions have a lot to do with it. I too played a lot of football in H.S. but not @ the collegiant level which I know is a total different game (more violent) than @ t H.S. level. Have your sinus checked, there is a minor surgery that can totally help if that is part of the source of the tremendious pain. I had it done, and have not had the paralyzing symptons since. Go to an ENT (Ears Nose Throat Doctor & have him check your sinus) Check it out Brah!
