The Best Miggle Convention was...
Fellas,
Let's post a poll on this topic! I think the Miggle convention in Baltimore 2006 was the best convention ever! Why? It was my first convention/tournament! The media coverage was huge locally and nationally. With some serious underground help from Sean Carter. The dinner & buffet menu was good and free cocktails. The location was great. That hotel was really nice! No major controversy on the rules occured. The best two coaches at that time squared off.Propbrably the largest turn out ever! Just ask Miggle. The biggest display of products to be brought, sold, traded or displayed occured in 2006. There was a great surge in new members and renewed interested in Baltimore. Some guys who haven't been seen in years showed up. Does anybody know where Marcus Robinson is? It was on in Bmore 2006.Let's see if I got this poll thing down? |

None of the above!
The best one for me was the first one for me and that was...well...the first Miggle Convention way back in 1995 or 96 in Chicago. For the first time I met guys who loved this hobby and they included Jim Davis, Jim Jackson, Frank Johnson, Dirk Thomas and the Landsmans. I will never forget it as long as I live. It was at the downtown Hyatt in Chicago and there was a wedding reception going on in the next room. I will never forget some groomsman coming over and taking a break from the reception in their tuxes to check out what was going on. I took my very first steps into miniature football and I am forever in the debt of Miggle toys...

I have to agree.....
The first official "Convention" was AWESOME. So many coaches, seeing Reg's first custom stadiums for the fist time. He had the Metro dome, Texas and Joe Robbie stadiums, wow. Matt Miller's awesome custom Monster boards.....teams of coaches running their teams (at that time, two coaches could coach one team). All the teams and accessories available. I was like a kid in a candy store.
Seeing all this stuff for the first time. Awesome. You should add a category for that convention. Not sure in Miggle terms if that was officially the first convention or the gathering at Michael Jordan's the previous year. Now I had visions of what will happen 2 weeks from today when Mighty MICHIGAN takes hold of the show, but only time will tell. It may be one for the ages.

My best covention
My Best covention was Canton, OH, Football Hall Fame. The hal is like no other.
But the best time I had at a Covention was South Bend. When I got togather with the fellows and Manhatten Ray hustled us in pool. That was good.

Best convention to me...
... was Baltimore.
Canton had a larger attendance, and playing inside the HOF was definitely a thrill for me; probably because it was my first convention. However... Baltimore had a special "air" about it. I can't explain it. All I'll say is: The Landsmans cultivated the perfect atmosphere of fellowship that weekend in Baltimore. Good Stuff! |

Canton
Canton had to be my personal best from many different stand points....
made many new friends, got the chance to play IN HOF and to also visit it for free to see all the wonders of the Hall. Made plenty of green tweaking bases (before it became over-populated) and overall fun. Followed by Philly, DC, South Bend............ K-LO |
