Dear Fellow MF/EF Enthusiasts,

My family long anticipates and thoroughly enjoys my brother Mark's Annual Super Bowl Predictions. While many try to guess who will play and who will win, Mark has never been wrong!

It is with pleasure and profit to you that I share with you his 2008 Edition.

Enjoy!

Mark’s Annual Super Bowl Predictions
2008 Edition

I make my Super Bowl predictions every year just before the conference championship games. Why wait until we know who’s playing in the big game? Anyone can do that and still have a 50-50 chance of being correct. My great prognosticating skills are displayed now, when there’s only a 25% chance of naming the winner.

Hah! I could have done this before the season began, but I was too busy basking in the glory of my pinpoint accuracy in making predictions about last year’s game.

Remember kids; if I predict it, you might as well start printing the history books. Then you’ll have study material for class next year.

As for those of you who demand data over faith; rest assured that I have made every effort to support my predictions with extensive research. I have spent months watching games, analyzing statistics, consulting with bearded old guys on mountains (Next time I am bringing a sweater; it was cold up there!), skipping rocks, searching on Google, folding socks, frying Spam, talking to players, coaches, and fans (They were not playing, coaching, or watching football, but who cares?), drinking Gatorade, picking peppers off of pizzas, bike riding with my shirt on inside out and backwards, simulating NFL games on my computer, reading books about players who no longer play, and repairing EFL game board on/off switches; all to bring you the most accurate predictions anywhere on the planet.

So here, without further fanfare, are Mark’s Super Bowl XLII Predictions:
  • The Super Bowl champion will come from a place with a two word name.
  • The NFC champ will come from the Northern U.S.
  • The AFC champ will come from the coast.
  • The NFC champs will have a stripe on the top of their helmet.
  • The coin flipped at the beginning of the game will not work in a standard pop machine.
  • The Super Bowl runner-up will come from a place with a two word name.
  • There will not be a stripe on the helmet of the AFC champs.
  • A city’s initial is on the NFC champs’ helmets.
  • The AFC champs have a logo void of letters on their helmets.
  • Both red and yellow have a 50-50 chance of appearing in the game on the teams’ helmets.
  • The vast majority of stadium seats will face the field at the beginning of the game.
  • This will be the 42nd consecutive year that insects and fish are not represented.
  • Blue is an official colour of at least one team.
  • The little warning sticker on players’ helmets will not play a part in video replay decisions.
  • Neither the champions’ mascot nor city begins with a vowel.
  • The Super Bowl XLII champion will not represent birds, horses, ranch hands, prospectors, goats, airplanes, pirates, Norsemen, mammals renown for depositing their feces in forests, metal industry workers, cats, coach’s last name bearers, canonized people, early American residents, heads side of nickels, nor water inhabiting mammals.
  • A team whose home field has no roof will win on a field that does.
  • The team with the highest score at the end of the game will have been a mere Conference Champ at the beginning of the game, yet leaves as Super Bowl Champ.
  • The Super Bowl champions will have Super Bowl Champions’ hats after the game.
