Archie Manning was and is still one of my alltime QB's, and now he can claim more fame from having two sons start in a superbowl. to me, thats just amazing. congrats to all the mannings.

overrated !
I think the Mannings are overrated ! I thought that what they did on draft day when Eli was drafted by San Diego was of very poor taste ! Archie to me was 1 of the worst QB's in the NFL and as far as Eli & Peyton , they're nothing but spoiled hillbillys !

Over rated? Peyton? whaaaaaaaat? I'm not even a Colts fan, far from it. Eli overated? I didn't know he was even highly rated. In fact, all I ever heard all year was how bad he was yet from what I've seen in the playoffs he's been great. I was rooting for Green Bay and but Eli made some killer plays against them and picked apart the man coverage by making some great throws where only his recievers could make plays. Are you guys watching the same games I am? I will agree with you though on how the Eli draft was handled was not too classy. Brothers being the starting QBs for back to back super bowl games is really amazing though!

My Vp
...as in viewpoint. In today's game of Professional Football there are MANY things wrong form our vantage point. Number One usually being that #1 or #2 QB NOT signing with the team that drafted them. Why? Because that team is usually the WORST team out there. BUT...look how fast San Diego turned it around! Could Eli have made a better contribution than Phillip Rivers? We'll never know. Bottom line is...IT'S A BUSINESS!!! Unless we're on the other end of the phone or in the War Room WE ARE FANS and THEY ARE BUSINESS PEOPLE. Their goal is to fill the seats by winning games and make more money for having done so. I pledge to let them do their jobs from now on. Maybe.
I do agree that these kids get paid way too much money before they even step foot on the Pro field, but maybe that's because I don't have to take those hits, or maybe because I'm not subjected to all the dangers a Professional Athlete faces everyday of their lives i.e. Madden Tournaments, Jessica Simpson or Lamborghini salesmen!?! Tough life! :p Anyway, in a way I think these kids are fans too. So when Eli snubbed San Diego, maybe he didn't like the weather or the fires or the color combination! Maybe he was more of a GIANTS fan than a CHARGERS fan. Or maybe he heeded Ol' Blue Eyes' wisdom, "If you can make it there (New York) you can make it anywhere!" I wish Rex woulda snubbed Chicago! He blows chunks!!! And so do I EVERYTIME I watch him. (<<<---insert vomit here, instead of drool!) Oh well, so much for letting (them) do their jobs!!! |

if you win consistently, i don't believe that you are overrated. archie one of the worst ever?????? c'mon, man. he was the ONLY good thing about those old saints teams. wanna talk about bad qb's, i'll even stick with the saints. how about billy joe hobert, or billy joe tolliver? remember them? when ditka was coach, and he traded every pick for 50 years for ricky, those guys were all that they could afford. i believe that jake dellhomme was their third string qb at that time, as well. anyhow, back on topic, i do agree with the way that the eli situation was handled on draft day, but i don't believe that they are at all overrated.
