NFL Strikes Again
I heard something on the news this morning regarding the NFL telling people who gather to watch NFL games on televisions larger than 55" are in violation of their broadcast policy. You know, at the end of every game the announcer says something like "this broadcast is property of the NFL, and may not be", something something something, I don't know the rest. They will go after large gatherings of people watching the Super Bowl, so those of you throwing, or going to SB parties, look out! (LOL)

Last year they came down on a church here in Indy that advertised a Super Bowl party for the congregation. There was no fee charged to attend. My understanding was the size of the television and the number of people attending were the factors the NFL scrutinized.
I am sure they have valid reasons to protect their trademark and business interests, but they could use better judgement in enforcing the 'spirit' of the law.

The Nfl Should Be Flattered That...
The NFL should be flattered that people want to gather and watch their so called Super Bowl. Americans have made the SB an event in itself, sort of an American Sports Holiday. They have taken their fans for granted, not to mention their former players suffering from all types of terrible injuries, and the players can't even get the league to provide medical coverage? Come on! Give me a break! This topic should be moot due to the fact of how much $ is made by the NFL, and spent by the consumer, just planning parties for the SB. If nobody's charging admission for SB parties, then the NFL should step off on this one. I know that I will not support their product any longer (WITH THE EXCEPTION OF EF/MF) if this type of nonsence persists.
Oh yeah, Don, they can't touch me either...my set is only 30something inches (LOL). Peace! |

The BIG Game
Don't call it the SB anymore. Just call it THE BIG GAME. I'm not having a SB party I'm having a Championship Game party or a BIG GAME PARTY. They did the same thing to my church last year. They're pathetic!
