An idea for promoting the hobby
I usually create all-time college teams, but the analogy works the same for pros. One thing I usually do after I've decaled a team is to post some pics on the school's football website forum. I figure it's fun for them to see the game with THEIR team all decked out.
Some websites don't allow pictures, so you can post pics to a flickr site or other similar ones and then just do a link. After my Louisville team was completed, I posted a message on the Scout.com forum for Louisville and to date there's been over 1000 views and 20 replies and a PM. Within my replies, I try to mention the miniaturefootball.org website and if it is a numbers game, maybe 1 or 2 will rediscover the hobby. There's a lot of talent in this hobby, don't be afraid to let people know! Just an idea! |

I'll do the same with my new Buckeye Team
Got me some Beenutt Decals. Hopefully, they won't discover I'm from Michigan then send me a virus. In doing my research I learned a lot of unique qualities in their program. It seems you have to earn the number that you want, then wait for the senior to graudate to get it, especially during the Woody era. Jack Tatum was one of the few players who came into the program with his chosen number. Chris Speilman was another. There are so many hall of famers at OSU that it is awe inspiring. Here's my squad in no particular order:
KATZENMOYER LB 44 GRADISHAR LB 53 STILLWAGON DNG 68 WILKINSON DT 72 SPIELMAN LB 36 DIGGS LB 31 A.J. HAWK LB 47 COUSINEAU LB 35 SCHLICHTER QB 10 MARSHALL DT 76 CARTER WR 2 BOSTON WR 9 BYARS RB 41 FRANK TE 89 GALLOWAY WR 7 HOLMES WR 17 WARFIELD WR 42 BROCKINGTON RB 43 GLENN WR 83 GRIFFIN RB 45 SKLADANY P 1 OTIS RB 13 JOHNSON RB 33 MAREK LB 37 TOVAR LB 58 MAYES OG 73 HICKS OT 74 DeCREE DE 88 BROWN DNG CUSICK DL DAVIDSON DT FRITZ OG LAURINAITIS LB MANGOLD OC MOORE S MURPHY OG SCHUMACHER OL SMITH DE SMITH OG UHLENHAKE OC WARD OT WHITE TE WHITNER S WILHELM LB |

I am telling you guys...the key to the next generation is promoting this hobby to Boy Scouts.
I think we are on to something and I challenge all of you to get in contact with your local Boy Scouts and put on a demonstration....it will be worth it!
