how do you begin to build your MF Chamionship team
Since the great debate is about over, it got me to thinking.....
How do YOU begin to build your Championship team?????? what do you start with ?? does what figures to use where factor in ?? Do your offensive or defensive schemes factor in during the building process?? what was your last title team, if any?? |

Building MF Team
LO,
First thing I do is tweak me some fast rookie bases. At this point figures don't matter. These fast bases will be for my kick coverage team. I don't know how many kick-off returns I've seen for TD's all because coaches forgot or where too lazy to concentrate on Specials Teams. Buliding a kick-off coverage team, to me is the hardest to build, because I must have 6 fast men who run with a wide arc (3 from the left, 3 from the right, and the rest run straight. Once I have this done, then I build my interior OL and DL. This gives me a mental break from the pressure of finding base for my Special Team. Strengh bases are alot easier for me to build. Then, I build the skill players both offensively and defensively. There are occasions when I find different bases run with different figures, but I don't give figures alot of thought when it comes to matching up a base with a figure. However, my entire A1 Ravens' Weighted Team is with custom figures. But, kick coverage and kicking FG's, alot of coaches neglect. Smitty |

Good post Coach K-Lo. As of now I am the only EF coach in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have never won a title so I will get that out of the way first. However I have played in one tournament that being the 2007 Seawall Brawl and I plan to play again this year. So here is how I am building my team.
I am starting with the bread and butter that being the defensive front seven and my front five up front on offense. In my way of thinking if my front seven on defense can't at least neutralize my opponents front five then the game is pretty much over. I make sure that my safeties have speed in order to chase down a speedy WR. Still if my DL and blitzing OLB's can get pressure then I have won half the battle. I also like to make sure that my weakside LB is on a fast looping base to pressure the QB similar to what LT did for years. As for offense I am one who likes to run and thus my front five have to hold there blocks in order for my backs to make yards. As for speed I like to have my fastest men on my KO coverage. As was said earlier a lot of coaches overlook special teams play. Yes it is good to have fast WR's and RB's but I prefer my fastest men be on KO coverage. My opinion is offense brings fans to the stadium, defense wins games, and special teams win championships. Coach J |

Special teams to me seems easy after completing mostly my defense. I will usually have LB, CB, Safeties on the field making plays. With a tounament roster, you have to really fine-tune the coverage teams. Excellent Coach Smitty, Thanks for the insights |

Remeber the word "Creative Financing"
Nothing is out of the realm of possibility if you can conceive it!
You better hurry up! I got this guy from Toledo, Ohio who's on the cover of the MFCA Magazine showing off that he's a champion that my league is recruiting Hard. I can't tell you this mon's (I mean man's) name but he kinda reminds you of LL Cool J. All he needs to do is lick his lips and they could pass for twins. But he's one tough Umbre? Reg |
