never throw away artillery
Be a patient my friend, dont throw bases away just adapt your tweaking to do what you need to do, Jimbo left a tip on here about the black joints I use to have a prob with them also, get a candle warmer and put your pliers on them, it should help in squeezing the prongs, since the plastic on the black bases is harder, and you can get some ok WR sliders if you take your time, hope this helps

ways to adjust them
there are way to adjust them....if you got the TTC bases (the 2-part bases) then more needs to be dicussed.
if you have the rookie bases, a little flame to the prongs will make them faster, but when doing the flame, turn the base so that you can see that prongs and the flames at the fame time. as you bring the flame closer to the base, you begin to see the prong begin to melt.... make sure that both sides are even and then test out the base....
