The rush of playing 4.0 and the DFW style.
Hey my EF/MF family:
Preparing for the CBSMF is really getting a brother excited, my team is 35 figures deep, the playbook is being assembled, and now i am immersed in learning the nuances and ability to play in one of the most exciting styles of play in our hobby, look LA, Dallas and New York must see what i now see, the DFW style is the shiznit! The freedom of figures, bases, stacking and open playcalling is and EF/MF hobbyists oasis, my first taste of 4.0 was a real awakening for your boy Lock, some of the greatest coaches in our hobby play this way, there must be a reason, if your looking for an adrenaline rush this is it boys, the clocks, action box and stadiums all add to an EF/MF experience that is second to none. I currently at this time have put other styles on the shelf so I can fully understand how I need to prepare, Reg and Mike R. thanks for showing me what I need to do in the 4.0 world and trust me im not saying im the new Bill Parcels of this style but I feel that with time I will be a formidable coach and mos def no pushover, I am enjoying the world of 4.0 and I am in it to win it! Stay Blessed |

Biglock, you are so right. I thought I was having fun playing MF until I met some dudes from the LAEFL and got up to speed on shootout rules, now add to that 4.0 weight and the fun just went up another level.
It's fast, furious MF!

It's a box with dice and a chart that can be shaken during the game, this is where additional penalities and injuries can stem from.

How do you determine when to use the box?

Attached here is "The Showstopper" or "The Box" simulation
This one may be outdated but this gives you an idea of what we do in the DFW League. Reg |

Thanks Reg. At what point during the game do you use the dice (i.e. before or after every play, only during certain instances, etc.)? Where do you get the 10 sided dice?

The Box is used...
after plays.
It is shaken by the official. A good rule of thumb is to "ask the box to be shaken only when something bad happens to you". Such as a loss in yard, interception, big gains, etc. It's very quick. We still get in right at 100 plays in 3 hours, depending on who handles the clocks, Reg |
