next year, aint nobody going anywhere, "read "
Coaches,
I just saw on the news that an airline is raising there price $90 each way starting this october. Other airlines will follow suit due to the economy. so realistically, are you really going to travel to various places. Road warriors, tourney goers, you need to be upfront with your travel plans and let the entities know if you can make it anywhere. I'm sorry to put this out there but if you can't realistaclly travel, you should be upfront with league commissioners so they are not stuck in the middle of a season with various forfeits. NEXT YEAR, I PERSONALLY AM ONLY GOING TO TRAVEL ONCE. wIth that said, like i posted a year ago. WE NEED TO HAVE A COMBINED TOURNEY WEEKEND WITH EVERYONE INVOLVED . Also, combine that weekend with your family vacation. FLORIDA AND DISNEY, VEGAS AND THE STRIP, A SKI LOGDE IN COLORADO. We can spend half the trip on family vacation and the other half playing in a combined tourney. The family is happy, your happy. We can take care of all birds with one stone. If you want, we can pick a small town out of the way like WHITEFISH MONTANA and invade one of there hotels. I can't imagine the price being more than $40 a night. We would just have to make our own fun. CHEAPER HOTEL STAY WILL OFFSET THE THE PRICE OF GAS AND THE AIRLINES. IF YOUR IN, YOUR IN. IF NOT, WHAT CAN I TELL YOU. COACHES WILL NOT BE GOING 50 MILLION PLACES NEXT YEAR. LAS VEGAS WILL BE THE CHEAPEST SPOT. There is a embassy suites just off the strip. (It's cheaper to stay off the strip). Being that mf has a history with the E. SUITES we have a in. WEEEEEE, as a community, must stop playing around, stop kidding one another, stop alllllll the B.S, and hook up together. The importance on this is family vacation/mf all inclusive tourney. I AM B.A.M sure not paying $500 to $600 airfare to go to different tourneys when this can be done once. 2009 THINGS WILL BE EVEN WORSE AS FAR AS THE ECONOMY. SO, AS MY CIVIC DUTY AS MR. UNITY I ASK YOU, "WHERE EXACTLY ARE YOU GOING IN 2009 ????????? ALLLL MANUFACTURES, TOURNEY HEADS, COACHES, NEED TO STOP THIS SEPARATION OF STATE.. We need to cut the B.S and begin working together. IF YOU ARE A PERSON WHO DOES NOT WANT TO SEE EVERYONE TOGETHER, MAYBE IT'S "YOU", THAT DONT NEED TO BE HERE. WHO WANT'S TO COMBINE, IN 2009

Realistically speaking

I got where you want to go with this and how you wish it could be, but i think there are a few things you gotta think through before posting/proposing these ideas. Families are not going to combine THE YEARLY FAMILY VACATION with MF. i cant see many wives and kids understanding that Daddy has to go play some football during a family vacation. And thats if a coach can get his wife and family to agree to go the same spot that every other coach is trying to get to. And maybe i am the only guy out there who feels this way, BUT I WOULDNT WANT TO DO THAT EITHER. My family vacations are for my family. i was in Cape Cod last August and Disney/Orlando last April. Two one week vacations spent with my wife and kids and i had a BLAST both times. (especially Cape Cod - i have always loved it up there). and i was MF/EF free for a week, and it was just fine. You see, family is family and will always come first. every now and then, family can invite MF into its circle, but family stands alone on top - all the time. You also have to take into account that you are asking the different venue operators to not throw a party in their own backyard. instead, travel to another state somewhere else and throw the party in a huge park. If guys are getting good turnouts for their local MF tourneys, why would they, and perhaps those attending, want to travel now, elsewhere? Guys dont have to spend lots of dough traveling because they are content with the local turnouts of the local tourneys and leagues. Again, i understand your point though, and if it could be pulled off, it would be GREAT! But............ it sounds like you're starting to see my point from our postings on the thread titled "ATTN: ALL ROAD WARRIORS". Dude, please dont take this as me being pessimistic or negative . i think you absolutely come up with the best ideas easily. but you gotta think it through a bit before going public. you state things in a "matter-of-fact" manner that doesnt always translate to real life. I wanted to make the Brawl in the worst way, but gas prices, airline faires and convincing my kids and wife to drive home 8hrs, on my birthday, was just too much to ask for. as it stands, we a had a quiet, money saving weekend, and my children made Daddy breakfast in the morning for his birthday. Thats something i may not remember one day, but they will. so missing the Brawl was extremely hard, but at the same time, it was very easy. uuuhhh, may have went off on a tangent there, i know there was a point somewhere. sorry 'bout that. SCOTT

I understand where your coming from...

I agree with those 2 points that you made. My family vacation to Orlando/Kissimmee is in July and it's going to last about 9 to 10 days. Unfortunately for me the Dixie League playoffs is the same weekend as part of my vacation. Jokingly, Beenutt told me to stop on by and play my playoff games on my way to Florida. I told Beenutt: ain't no way bro, I love ya but it ain't happening. My wife has been waiting all year for this vacation, and I'm darn sure not going to even mention the words miniature football. Last month I couldn't make it to the Beltsville Bash because I didn't realize when I decided to play... that it was on the same weekend as a close friend of mine's Wedding. We had RSVPed 6 months prior and that was the name of that tune. Family and friends always comes first in my household, minature football is what I do in my spare time. It's like that and that's the way it is. Dre... Because of tough economic times, your idea of consolidation is a good one. But only the entities that host events can make that happen, and the chances of that are slim to none. Peace, Don |
