Default Steelers Fans Say It Ain't So

Greetings to all of my MF coaches and especially Steelers fans. I hope that everyone is doing well.

I briefly read something the other day on the net where the Rooneys were thinking of either selling the Pittsburgh Steelers or at least part of the team to someone else. The Rooney family has owned the Steelers since day one, which is 1933, and they have been a class act. As some of you I am somewhat of a traditionalist and I would not want someone to purchase the team and ruin it. This may not sit well with some people but Dan Snyder and Mark Cuban are NOT two of my favorite owners. I would not want someone with that kind of an attitude gaining ownership of the Steelers. If I have this whole thing wrong about the Steelers ownership then someone please correct me.

Coach J

Default Steelers Ownership

The ownership of the team is currently divided among the Rooneys. Dan (Chairman) and his 5 sons...with Art II (team President), are the owners. Some of the brothers have interests in gambling operations...and gambling and sports are "no mix" situations as far as the NFL is concerned. Those brothers are looking to sell their interest in the team.

This article describes it better than I can:

I think the main thing is that NOBODY, including the bothers that are trying to sell their interests, wants to "ruin" the Rooney/Steeler legacy and reputation...

Better start praying...Los Angelas is clammering for a team...anything is possible in the NFL...unfortunately the NFL doesn't always think about the fans....

I realize that ALMOST anything is possible in the NFL, but the Steelers won't go anywhere.

Default I honestly think...

that what happend to the Colts and Browns has helped make it much less likely that it would happen to the Steelers...or any other team that has been around as long as they have (or longer) in the same city...
