Default Building Team for College Bowl Series of Miniature Football

When building your college teams for the CBSMF, please take into account the real possibility of players going down with injuries for a game, weeks, or season ending situations. Therefore, your team may need 4 tailbacks that can tote the load during the season.

Or your starting QB. If he goes down, that means the TTQB or TDQ goes down as well. Not only him but any other player you had as that player during a football game.

Depth is important in the CBSMF. You can carry up to 65 on a roster so be very clear where you want to spread your talent at.

In the CBSMF rule system, the injuries are weighted pretty equally (although I am toying with an increase on QB scrambling injury). But for the most part, all these injuries are equally weighted based on the shake of the dice (except kickers).

So while it is great to have "iron men" players on your team, it will be equally important to have depth if your great running back such as Herschel Walker goes down in Week 1 of the season.

Default I like it....

Sounds really cool to add some of that to the game. I don't worry about depth too much because I have always went 5 and 6 deep in most of the skill positions.

QB, on the other hand is a little different. So, if you have let's say 3 QB's on your team, do you need to have 3 TTQB/TDQ to match?? That's a unique way to do that. Most of us (coaches) have one "IT TTQB/TDQ" that we rely on. I don't know if anyone can go to a 3rd TTQB and have the same confidence passing the ball.

Default And that's why it's unique

We have seen teams depleted just at the QB position to the point where there was no confidence in the ability to pass the ball by the 3rd string TTQB. So when the defense knows your 1st and 2nd string QB is hurt, the defensive scheme changes because it is known that you have no confidence in the QB so you will rely on the run.

I don't think anyone will have a lot of problems with the # of scholarship athletes that you can carry up to. But the injury is a huge part in the outcome of a season. Some teams may be super strong or 2 or 3 injuries in row could jeopardize their run at a national title.
