Default What is the point to stacking

Ok! before you move to the next post, just hear me out, this will be the last post on this I hope. what is the point of stacking, do people stack because their D-line is weak or their O-line? I just want to know why people feel the need to stack and is that the only way you can blitz?

Andre,
Man I did not want to get on this debate again. Please listen!! People stack B/C Coaches cannot pass!! Very simple. Learn how to pass and Coaches wont stack against you. As a rookie coach defenses stacked on me B/C they new I couldn't pass. Work on your passing games( I did it 1-2 hours a night), this will either eliminate the stacking or you will have a field day against them. Hopefully we can do a live demonstration on this and it will make things very clear for you. So go hit the field take your favorite QB and start firing away. You say you can't pass, That my friend is why people stack!!!!!!!!!!!

Default I probably will not even touch this topic again either

but I do know that most people that have issues with stacking can't pass a lick! Also, most rulesets do not make a defense pay for stacking. In most leagues, it is always a 1-1 movement ratio. In the DFW, there is a 2-1 and 3-1 ratio which essentially makes a defense pay for taking such chances.

Stacking has its pluses and minuses. You stack on 3rd and short or long to get max pressure on the QB. Without that added pressure up the middle, the offense will be too comfortable in the pocket. And that's what most people want when they complain of stacking.

I just know whenever you ask a person about their ability to pass, they can never give you a real answer, just bits and pieces. This is an argument I have seen rage on for 13 years with lack of passing skill right at the heart of their frustration.

It's rare that a proficient passer ever complains about stacking/blitzing (at least in the Shootout ruleset) because he knows with the 3-1 ration, he's already at a huge advantage plus there are so many plays of trickery that can be used from these formations.

The problem that most people have is that instead of going to the source of the rules and asking questions, they assume "Oh, I know football so I don't need any help". But until you can pass with any realistic accuracy, you will continue to ask the question of why is stacking needed?

Reg

Default Passing and stacking

both exist in the CNYEFL. We play on the smaller SuperBowl field for our games. In fact we have some deadly accurate passers in our league.
