Default Should Brett Favre retire?

Okay...it is out...Brett Favre is ready to move on to a new team...and I was wondering everyone's opinion on this. It looks like we have four scenerios here...thus the poll.

What is going to happen? Let's hear your opinions...

Default What I want to happen

is for the Brett Favre to find something else to do. I am pretty tired of hearing about this every year. He is holding the packers hostage until he makes up his mind, he affects the draft, free agency and the developement of other players ( Aaron Rodgers ). I can appreciate the fact that th "itch" is pretty strong so just sa that you are coming back and if you change your mind then retire, the team can always find a backup qb.

If I were Rodgers as soon as I was a free agent I would be GONE!!!!!

All Brett cares about is.....Brett. I am tired of his antics. I have grown to detest him. If I were Aaron Rogers and they brought Brett back, then I would sit out and demand a trade. It is time for the Packers to move on. Favre will not play much longer and they would be mortgaging their future big time if they took him back.

I love what he was, I hate what he has become. He needs to move on. It doesn't matter how great he was, the Packer organization will always be more important.

Default He's believing his own hype

Favre is not looking so good on this one. Brett's best years were under Holmgren. Since then, he's been slightly above average. The media hype machine built him into a cult figure. Remember, while he has the most TD passes in history--he also has thrown the most interceptions. This fact alone takes him outta my top ten all-time. He's more like #21 in my book. He needs to sit on his rocking chair in Kiln Miss. and stop acting like a 5 year old who wants more cookies.

He's been very loyal and has done everything the Packers and Green Bay has asked of him over all these years. He wants to do something for Himself now, then let HIM go!

Default Yes Retire

I believe that Favre should have retired because of the legacy that he established in Green Bay. I think that players of his caliber should retire with the team that they shined with. Another example would be Emmitt Smith. In my opinion, he had no business playing with the Cardinals.

Default Decisiveness

Don’t get me wrong when I said Favre should have retired. I am saying that whenever he decided to retire, he should have done it as a Packer. Honestly speaking, Favre should have been more decisive about announcing his retirement in the first place. That’s how all of this mess got started. As far as I know, it’s wasn’t like the Packers pressured him to retire. Favre some how had forgotten the caliber of player he is. He is such an icon in the game that he and players of his status have to be extremely careful when they say anything remotely concerning retirement. Favre shouldn't have said anything until he was absolutely sure. If he had kept his mouth shut, he would still be a Packer.
