Att Ant Burgess And Jimbo "rules 101 Needed"
coaches,
I have a quick question regarding qb and running back positioning before the snap. 1) If the qb is 15yds back in the shotgun, can any of the running backs be positioned ahead of him ? example, the running back is directly behind the tackle's or they are 5 to 10 yards behind the tackle's . ALL OF THIS IS RIGHT BEFORE THE SNAP TO THE QB. I see coaches have there qb in the shotgun with the running backs along side of hime ready to flare left and right. BOTTOM LINE, CAN THE RUNNING BACKS BE PLACED ANYWHERE WITHIN THE 15 YARD LIMIT BEHIND THE LINE AS LONG AS THEY ARE NOT BETWEEN THE CENTER AND QB ? Im getting some play's together for our upcoming bam opener, iwas trying to get this answer yesterday so i could finish last night. please, when you both get a chance, let me know what is legal and illegal. thanks mantaraydre

Big Dre
In the BAM
The Qb can be setup no more than 15 yds from line of scrimmage directly behind the center but pointed in any direction....please understand he cannot drop back any further than 15 yards from the line of scrimmage unless playing on a scale size/ monster board ...then that distance is 10 yards. The running backs can be setup anywhere within the outsides of the tackles bases up to 15 yds FROM THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE....... Receivers can be stacked and can only be 5 yds off the line of scrimmage Carson, Chad and Housh will be in the house airing it out........ 5.....4.....3......2....1.... buzzzzzzzzz Be Ready

Before I Get Slammed...
...for not answering this post in a timely manner, let me make it clear that I am not affiliated with the BAM or TSO Rule Committee in any way. Please do not ask me questions regarding either ruleset since I wasn't even born when they were created.
Thanks and Good Luck, Dre. Peace. |

REAL vs. PLASTIC
Your question implied that you were getting ready for your BAM opener, which further implies BAM/TSO rulings on setup, formations and, I assumed, eligibility to receive a toss or pitch.
As far as BAM/TSO formations/restrictions/limitations go, which was your original question, it looks like Mozeek answered it. I am not qualified to speak for leagues outside of my own, so asking for my advice on BAM/TSO Rules is why I refrained from answering. Not my show. But, from an NFL standpoint (NCAA, etc) there are are only 2 setup restrictions: 7 men on the LOS for Offense and both teams lining up Onside. Everything goes in real life. Each MF league and/or Coach creates their own set of limits based on their individual interpretation of the real game, which translates into 500+ different ways of doing any one thing!?! |
