Zack Greco Injury Update
While attending the recently completed convention Zack was outside throwing the football around with Ed and Ryan Roche and The National One CorEy Johnson (once again CorEy manages to be involved).
On a pass from Ed to Corey, Zack stepped in front of CorEy to pick off the pass but in doing so he tripped and fell (not a dirty play by CorEy). Because of the way he was holding the ball when he fell he landed on the top of his left wrist (for what it is worth he did manage to hold onto the ball). One trip to the hospital later the x rays showed that he had suffered a broken wrist in a pretty bad spot. A cast was put on going from his hand all the way past his elbow. There was a question as to whether he did some serious nerve damage and whether the reset bone would stay in place or would require surgery to put pins in. Today we visited a specialist who took more x rays and re-evaluated his wrist. At this point it looks like there is no nerve damage and that the resetting of his wrist was done perfectly and is staying intact. He will be in a cast for approximately 6 weeks but should be good to go after that. I would like to thank all of you for your emails, text messages, thoughts and prayers - they are most appreciated. I would like to especially thank my good friend Ed Roche for coming with us to the hospital and making sure that we were okay. While the Convention did not turn out quite the way I anticipated, I would like to thank Lynn, Matt and Will for their tireless efforts in making sure that everyone had a good time. It was truly a weekend of fellowship and celebration in how far we have come as a hobby in the past couple of years. Joe Greco |

Sounds like it was a fairly routine play.
But in any case, i hope all turns out well and hope your son can go on to play some more football in the future. and he did hold on to the ball

Cheap shot! Just kidding. When I was 8 I broke both bones in my left wrist playing backyard football. He will be fine and will go on to play alot more. If he's like me, he'll break everything else in his body, but not that left wrist again.

Hey Zack, We missed you the rest of the weekend. I have been through the same thing when I was 14 and it will go by quick. Hang in there and always beware of playing ball against those Philly guys...you know how they are.
