My mission trip to Merida, Mexico
I am sharing some information on my recent mission trip to the Yucatan in Mexico. If interested, please read on. Steve.
As some of you may know, I and 14 others from my Church (Elizabeth lake Church of Christ) and 10 Students from Great lakes Christian College recently made a mission trip to Merida, Mexico for 10 days. There was lot of physical work but had some fun too. The mission trip was to Merida Mexico in the Yucatan peninsula, and worked at a Bible Academy (in a pueblo called "Sotuta"), and a Church in Zapata (in the suburbs of Merida). We dug ditches, mixed and poured plaster and concrete and installed windows. We also got to visit Mayan pyramids/ ruins, swam in a "subute", an underground swimming hole and shopped/ Toured downtown Merida (the Capitol of the Yucatan) and went to beach in Progreso Mexico. Most importantly I met and helped some of our Christian brothers and sisters in the Yucatan and learned a lot about their language, faith and culture. I learned first hand that there are people across the world that are working hard each day to be the light of the world and share the Good News of Jesus Christ. I would like to thank my family and friends (and my patient customers!) in supporting this work. Click the links below and view some pictures from the trip. Steve.

Mission Trip...
Steve,
Thank you for sharing this story. It's knowing people like you that makes me glad that I'm a part of this hobby. I'm fairly certain that you learned as much from the people of the Yucatan as the learned from you. I know I've learned a lot from you. Take care and God bless. - Don |
