How do you...
...use the QB to pitch out on the option. Can anyone explain how they or their league use the option to pitch to a trailing RB? What are the rules? (I hope one doesn't need a dictionary, thesaurus, and a slide rule to understand this).

We used to allow pitches . All that had to be done was the qb and rb had to be less than 5 yards apart , and the pitch was automatic. The problem we encountered was after the pitych the rb could be adjusted anyway desired. That created alot of problems for the defense.

we allow pitches to happen as long as the RB is with in base and a 1/2 (5 yds) of the QB.
However, once the pitch is made, all unengaged defenders can be adjusted/pivoted towards the RB. That is why it's best to "run it off the break!" - Lomax K-LO |
