Speaking From Experience
Pressure the QB and DON'T commit your entire Defense to Man 2 Man! Zone Blitz; Over/Under; Cover 2 and 3 to name a few. Basic football.
Only in EF/MF have I ever seen 11 men on the LOS all moving forward. Sure you can push the WR back 10yds, but as soon as he slips off and the board is stopped, it is almost ALWAYS just an easy dump pass of no more than 10yds. And your DB is 20yds away usually headed straight for the endzone. What if you dropped a DE out into the flats? What if you circled your CBs and had your NB and DB dropping back to the Deep 1/2? What if your MLB dropped back to cover the Deep Middle or just circled in the middle where the TE usually roams free? Hmmm...Can the church say, "REAL FOOTBALL!?!" I knew that you could. Just a few thoughts. I played in the LAEFL back in '05 and had a BLAST playing with those guys!!! They soon realized that I wasn't gonna Man-Up against the WR stack, so they stopped doing it. Why? Because they had to protect the QB!!! And they had to throw longer and more accurate passes with the softer coverage. |

I coached High school football in Texas for 20 years and it is hard for me to get the old electric football out of me . I understand all of the football terms you are using but I have to get a new mind set for EFL. I see real football in it but have bad habits from the past. Line em up and let them run straight ahead and hope they run into someone. I do agree pressure is the most important point Thanks I think I have some busness coming your way. |

I send a looper...
first to hit the 2nd wr to weaken the push and after it redirects him he can still follow through with presure on the Qb...I also have a strong athlete in fornt of the stack to hold it lon enough for the looper ...looper needs to have power to hit....

Use two corners to cover the stack. If you angle them right, the receivers will likely be nullified. You still have plenty of players to put heat on the QB.
