Default have you tried promoting your league via local sportsbars

Has anyone ever gone down to a local sportsbar on a sunday to promote your league and hobby as a whole. i imagine there are many die hard football fans there to watch all the games on the big screen tv's. They probably have no idea we still play this game. a good prospect would be a group of guy's that are single with no kids. This being they will have the time to join a league . if they spend all day in a sportsbar watching football, they are displaying they have the free time to sit in a bar for hours. This means they have the free time to play in a league. It would be nice to spend 1 sunday down there and pass out trading cards directing them to your league website and the MFCA website as well. just a thought on some possible pick ups.

Another option is to go on a saturday evening during college gamedays. I wen't once to see a tyson fight one saturday and it was during college basketball season. The place was jammed packed with alumni from all the various schools. Tee shirts and sweatshirts galore repping there schools.

Bottom line is, there are thousands who don't think we still play and know how much he game has advanced. I guarentee you can fill a league in your area if you hit the streets and promote. The problem is what is the easiest way for them to enter in our world. They would

1) want and need a team already painted and decaled.

2)bases already tweeked

3) the cheapest way to get a board to practice with.

4) a few scrimmages to get accustomed to the game itself to feel confident.

to keep a new person interested, many things will have to be laid out for them to make the transition smooth. People will lose interest if they had to paint, decaled, tweek, etc etc. Human nature alway's resorts to hitting the ground running. You must look into a new person's eye's to see if the are serious or not. For some it will just be a passing interest. you can tell if someone is serious if they show a willingness to pay for things and don't mind. You know you have a winner if a new coach ask's where can i get my decals, or where can i buy figures.

It is every league's duty to display extreme hospitality during the courting session. The person i will measure any new coach against is artlax of THE B.A.M fame. football/this hobby is alway's on his mind. he is alway's digging and grinding looking for the next touchdown.

JUST LOOK INTO THE PERSON'S EYE'S. LIKE BILL PARCELL'S SAY'S, "GO BY WHAT YOU SEE"

That sounds good , I also thought about just putting an advertisement in the sports section of the local paper .
