Default Correct colors for the Huskers?

I'm going to do a little painting on the Jennings Ohio State team and converting them to Huskers. What are the best acrylic colors for the Huskers Red and White/Cream?

Default Huskers colors? (they are "scarlet")

You've seen my Cornpickers teams. I just use Testors gloss red and gloss white, in the little bottles. They also make a flat red which looks pretty nice too. And, there's a Testors dark red which would work better on say, Oklahoma and Alabama (whose colors are "crimson"). Like the Rare!

Ed Morgans, Guttman, or some of the other well-known painters here might be able to give you an acrylic color you could use. The acrylics are nice because they dry so much quicker.

Default Colors

I used to know all the colors to use but then I painted for Tom Ruesink and now I don't know any of the right colors.

Default Correct Color

Nice one Raiderman!

My thought is if you're going to go to all that trouble detailing a team, you want them to be as close to accurate as possible.

You're an excellent painter, RM...just every now and then the "if it doesn't say Testors it ain't a color" needs a little poke in the ribs.

Default COLORS

I knew you'd like that one. So king of the paint isle Ruesink, what color should the Wolfman use? I'd use TESTORS RED for the Huskers but that's not acrylic.

Add a drop or two or three of Dark red to red. If the numbers were black, you could use regular red as the numbers would darken the look of the red. The numbers are white, so you would need to darken the red a bit.

Default Red

Where did you learn that theory Guttmann? Sounds familar.

I have no problem with the weird colors being picked apart. I do that as well. It was the time that you told me that the Badgers red was different than the Huskers red. THat's what sent me over the edge.

Actually don't tell Tom but he made me more aware of the differences in colors out there and made me better at getting them closer to the real thing.
