I'm going to try and summarize what I think this discussion has yielded. I am by no means the last word on it and this is just from my point of view. I want to stress that this is just my take, but it is what I will propose to the BOD and will accept any input in regards to the below classes.
COMPETITON CLASSES as recognized by the MFCA. The MFCA is attempting to set “Competitive Class/Weight” descriptions in order for the beginning coach as well as the experienced coach to have clear definitions of the “competitive levels” that they can expect and prepare for in play around the country. MFCA Competition/League Rules will be played at the 4.0 Custom Class. Skills competitions will offer the 3.3 Stock class, 4.0 Custom class and Unlimited Custom classes in order for beginners and experienced coaches to have an equal chance to compete. There are 4 classes of competitive play recognized by the MFCA. 3.3 Stock Class-This class is designed for the beginner or new coach or for experienced coaches that want to get started in competition with minimum effort in regards to the team’s look and feel, balance or performance. All figure and base combinations must weigh less than 3.30 grams. The base must be marked clearly underneath the base with a permanent marker with the number of the player to avoid the switching of base and figure combinations in an attempt to create heavier combinations. The base and figure cannot have any additions (besides those listed in the next sentence) made to them in order to create a heavier base/figure combination. This class includes stock out of the package figures which have NOT been customized in any way in regards to body position. These figures may have minimal enhancements added which include: facemasks, chinstraps, towel, paint, 2 coats of clear coat for protection. NO OTHER additions, weights or changes may be made to the figure. 3.3 Custom Class-This class is designed for the more experienced coach or for the coach looking to achieve the maximum in player appearance and playability. All figure and base combinations must weigh less than 3.30 grams. The base must be marked clearly underneath the base with a permanent marker with the number of the player to avoid the switching of base and figure combinations in an attempt to create heavier combinations. The figures in this class are allowed to be enhanced or customized, but must conform to human body shape and dimensions and meet the criteria for a 28MM scale figure*. Any additions may be made that enhance the figures appearance or playability. Bases may have additional weights added under the base or platform of the figure. These weights should be, for the most part, invisible to the eye when placed on the field. 4.0 Custom Class-This class is designed for the more experienced coach or for the coach looking to achieve the maximum in player appearance and playability. All figure and base combinations must weigh less than 4.00 grams. Unlimited Custom Class-This class is designed for the more experienced coach or for the coach looking to achieve the maximum in player appearance and playability. Figure and base combinations total weight are unlimited. Definitions Enhanced-The addition of paint, chinstraps, facemasks, hair or any other addition in order to achieve a more realistic looking figure. Custom/Customized-The manipulation of body parts of a figure in order to achieve a more realistic, balanced or better performing pose. *28MM Scale-Per Chris Fields, professional miniature modeler- When measuring the**scale**of a figure; the measurement is from the foot to the eye level. The**28mm**scale**measurement is an assumption of 6 feet in height for a figure that measures**28mm**from eye level to the bottoms of the feet. For simplicity, the MFCA recognizes all current (2010) Miggle, Buzzball, Electric Gridiron, FF.com, 5-13 Figures, G-Force production figures as per this scale as well as all past Tudor figures. Gorilla figures or figures molded to the base are excluded.

Not saying that I'm on the BOD
but i don't like the classes. Calling something rookie, or advanced makes one seem more important than the others.
Just call it by the weight class or use letters SE - stock equipment ME - modified equipment UL - Unlimited If the MFCA wants to use 4.0 as the standard for the convo or for it's handbook, I"m fine with that. But until you come up with something (Weights) that come with the product, it just seems like more of a problem and something else you have to buy. Paint, base, play. Nat'l

Suggestion
Wolf,
Take out the adjectives Rookie, Advanced and pro. No one wants to be known as a rookie replace with........... Stock Advanced brings to mind smart school children replace with.............. custom and Pro indicates guys are being plaid to play - leave it simply as custom 4.0 and custom unlimted

WOLF EXCELLENT.
WOLF,
This is excellent. It addresses the debate and sums it up nicely. This is worded to perfection and should be to final document for approval. Mantaraydre

I agree with Corey. If I am a new coach and I see these classes, I will get discouraged and not even bother. We want to Unite not classify. If I want to play in a tourney or league I will abide by their rules. If you play at 4.0 then I will base a team for 4.0. If you play at 3.3, then I will base a team for 3.3. Lets leave things where they are at.

This coming from the guy who owns everything the hobby has to offer!! I'm actually working on something with the people that produce the Pine Car weights. If all goes well the MFCA may be able to offer a weighting system. In the mean time, I'll happily give you a roll of lead tape complete with useage instructions, since you are so financially and weighted challenged!

EXCELLENT !!!!!
Wolf, excellent job.
Once this is finalized, maybe coaches can donate a roll of golf tape to the MFCA. This is to enclose some sample strips in a new mfca members welcome packet. He can test the golf tape on several players and once satisfied, he can go out and purchase rolls of this tape himself. WOLF, GREAT WRITE UP !!!! MANTARAYDRE

Definitions are great but why give the different classes a name at all...other than 3.3, 4.0, and unlimited. I agree with National in that we should not use "Pro" or "Rookie" class. Just 3.3 weight class, etc.
