Congratulations DC on once again winning The Seawall Brawl Championship. Keep up the good work and if the Lord says so I will see you again in '08.

Cool Seawall Brawl Champ...

I also would like to publicly congratulate D.C. for a truly remarkable run in defending his title. He showed championship qualities throughout the entire weekend, and class in the Title game.

Yes I'm very proud of him, however it's more for his off the field accomplishments than on. Even though he's proven that he can play this game at a high level; I'm more proud of the fact that (at 18 years of age) he still loves this hobby, and fellowshiping with the people in it. He could have easily become disinterested because of all the things he has going on in his life right now. If he had, I wouldn't have blamed him one bit; because he's a teenager and hanging out with your parents usually isn't high on the list.

So I'm grateful that he still wants to be around his old dad, and the hobby I grew up with as a kid. I'll take every minute he wants to spend. The other day a coach reminded me that D.C. used to be known as Don's son; now I'm known as D.C.'s dad. (WOW!!!) Times they are a changing.

Thanks everybody for the kind words for D.C., Jimbo, and myself. They are greatly appreciated.

- Don Smith (forever to be known as D.C.'s dad)

Default Wow!

Hey Don,

You know something? When your playing this game and you fellowship, sometimes you forget how old some of these guys are! I was playing pool with DC, Robert & Williams Chalmers in the Bar! Man, I'm glad I didn't buy those boys a drink! Man, I can remember when I was 18. My future was so bright, I always had on shades!

Hey, who keeps letting these kids in the room? You know I can't shoot with these kids in the room!

Default From the desk of the Champ...

A very special thank you goes out to all the coaches who have said some very kind things of me and my championship run within this thread. Another set of thank yous must be given to all the playas and people who attended the tournament, it really did make for a special weekend.

Due to my constant playing during the tournament I was hard pressed for time so I missed out on getting to chill with the likes of Coach J and others who I had never met before. Next time we get together I will definately make time.

To uncle Jim "Brezzy" bo, thanks for a great week with the family. I will definately see you guy soon when I head back to school. Its always a blast when your around, from the brawl to "Norbit", and from "Hostel 2" to Busch Gardens. Thank you and your family for being an important part of my life.

To all my opponents thank you for making me earn each and every victory I got in this touornament. To Rodney, bro you will for a fact be something very special in this hobby very soon, and keep up the passing accuracy cause it is a very dangerous weapon to wield in this game. To Al, the score of our game definately does not reflect the level of talent and knowledge you bring to the table, you are an amazing coach and I think playing you next time will be even harder than it was the first time. To Healey aka Jamie Kennedy (haha), you are a true warrior who is willing to fight until the very end and I thank you for doing that because it taught me something about your fighting spirit and that is a lesson that I can learn from and hopefully add to my overall character as a player. To Greg HARDmon, well your last name sure is an understatement on the difficulty of play that was required of both of us in our clash of the titan like match, I was in shock that I was held to such a small score as I am sure you felt the same way. I look foward to playing you again and again sir. Finally to my opponent in the finals, thank you for an intense battle in the big dance, and by seeing the level of skill you have I am sure that you will be making and probably winning many finals in everything that you play in. Congrats on your run to the Final Game.

To my father, it is actually I who am proud of him. Dad thank you for everything not just in electric football but in life. You are ALWAYS there when I need you, and you are constantly making sacrifices to ensure that my life can be the best that It can possibly be. So just know I love you and,no offense to the other fathers of the world, but I feel that I've got the best one that this world has to offer.

This hobbie has been a very important piece of my life and although I am reaching that age where it may have to take a back seat in the coming years as I continue my schooling and then start my own life as an adult, I will never lose the love that I have for it.

Once again, "FINALLY THE ROCK HAS COME BACK, TO THE SEAWALL BRAWL!!!"
