Why Join The MFCA?
Not trying to be a smart-alick about the question, just...
to be a member, am i supposed to participate in a league OR, am i a member without having to be in or play in a league. more like a member of a club i guess. it sounds cool and would like to join if its the latter. i wouldnt have time to play in games, i am still in the collecting and painting stage of my EF experience. can someone fill me in? |

Hey, Michael, the MFCA is an association of coaches. We do not have a league. It is more like a national club. If you read the about us on www.miniaturefootball.org you will get a better understanding of what we are about. It is about having unity, fellowship and a way of supporting and growing the hobby of miniature football. Each member has a voice in the association and eventually we will have a national convention geared towards educating and promoting the hobby.
There is much more to it then just this simple answer above and I invite you to look it over at the site I linked above. This forum is sponsored in part by MFCA membership dues. In regards to competitions, the MFCA does run skills competitions but there is no requirement to participate. The MFCA may in the future have it's own league but the main focus is on education and promotion of the hobby. Lynn Schmidt MFCA President

Hi Michael,
Greetings my friend and again welcome to the chatboard. I ditto everything Weirdwolf said in his reply. Just for your information I am one of the original 12 members of the MFCA and I am NOT a member of any league. I wish I was but currently there is no league in my part of California. As Weirdwolf said there is NO pressure to join and like myself I am not in a league but an active member of the MFCA. By the way I noticed you are from Bronx, New York. Coincidentally one of the 12 original members of the MFCA lives is a native New Yorker. His name is Andre and he goes by the name "BROADWAY-DRE" on the chatboard. I will contact him and hopefully the two of you will connect and maybe even meet. Hope this helps. Have a good day and feel free to ask any additional questions. John aka Coach_J |
