I got to disagree.
This is not a "man-weekend" thing. To me, this is a family weekend. Sometimes, y'all can be very chauvinistic toward women in the hobby and that irritates me. My wife loves this game probably more than most of you men. She can tell you about bubble screens, dime coverage, and anything else.

I guess in your all mind, every time we play the game, it's a man thing? That's why some of us have no wife or good relationship in our lives today!!! Just an observation I see.

Whether its Canton, Vegas or Timbuktu, its not just a guy thing. Maybe that's why I don't put so much of a premium on winning at all cost. The cost for me would be to probably lose my family when I know what I do has to be centered around fun for her and my son.

So y'all really need to start thinking "This is not just about us. It's about our families too".

Other than this weekend, the other 360 days are with the family, where they want to go, what they want to do. I came home refreshed and wanting. You are just one of the fortunate to have a wifey that has this common interest.

We must first understand that it is not the CBSMF and MFCA. Its the MFCA and the CBSMF. One is a entity, possibly a sanctioning body, that could propel the right league into a national limelight. The other is a league origination in Texas and California, adopted in Michigan at great expense, and now picked up in other areas. They make up a percentage of players but not the majority. This needs to be understood. Don't get it twisted.

I have played just about every style in my 41 years of MF/EF. I am flexible and we must ensure that the proper style of play best represents the MFCA, not a particular league. Michigan will show no matter what the style, but I haven't seen Salty, Raiderman, and many other league coaches as they do not play this system. By comparison we are talking about a small percentage of coaches. Sure, it's good to have the numbers? (17). You mean to tell me that if properly presented we can't draw 17 more people? Help me to understand that.

Sure, you don't have all the glitz and glamor but you also don't have distractions, until Sunday and who wouldn't want to be a part of that. It just seems to me that we should not turn this into a make or break. There are many great ideas but if they don't work what are the alternatives?

Again, there will be alternatives and I feel the MFCA should NOT be directly affiliated with any league or entity that they do not sanction. By doing so it presents an exclusion of the 100 or more coaches that will die before playing a shoot-out game. Just my thoughts.

As one of the very few female members of the MFCA, let me just say that I love football just as much, if not more, than most men. And I'm having a blast learning more about this hobby and sharing it with my nephews AND nieces. I would love to attend a convention to see and experience all the action. If it were in a city such as Vegas, my husband would gladly come along (he's not into football at all). But after reading some of these posts I would hate to feel like I was intruding on someone's "man weekend".

I'm not mad posting this or am I trying to be chauvanistic, it's sad that this discussion has gone this way. But quite frankely as Ken Allen said there are 360 days in the year and 52 weeks, plenty of time to keep balance on the home front. Im so HAPPY and BLESSED that my wife allows me some time like the HOF weekend to enjoy and wind down from the every day routine we each live on a dailey bases. I understand what your saying about some wifes wanting to come hang out with their EFL husbands and thats great , if that's what they choose to do nothing wrong with that. But really when you take a look around the convention it was what 90% men. I can't speak for anyone just myself when i say that EFL conventions attract more male EFLers than female ones. Let me think how many women have entered a MFCA or CBSMF tournament, lets keep it real, most women don't care to go to these EFL events sure there are some that do but most don't. I can't speak for others but calling some of us chavanistic is ludicrus, far from it, I have family balance and spen plenty of time outside EF during the year, keep it in perspective this is only 1 weekend of the year. Oh and BTW let me close by saying every women that wants to come to the MFCA convention is always welcome.

I think Vegas would be a awsome spot to hold a tourney for a variety of reasons.

The night time things to do never end, so with a family trip you can play EF GUILT FREE durring the heat of the day and go out with the family in the cooler evening time and still have PLENTY to do from gambleing to fine dinning, heck, just walking aroung and checking out all the cool hotels and fountains is a gr8 thing to do.

Another offering would be Los Angeles.
Here we have so many family things to do right in our backyard.
Disneyland is right here, disney california adventure, Sea World and Wild life park, Lots of Museums, Magic mountain for all you thrill seakers, a really cool waterslide park, tons of music clubs on the strip in hollywood. knotts berry farms park is here also.

the West Coast really is not a bad area to consider, and to honest, we could get almost 17 coaches to play just from here!!!

i know the east coasters dont like to travel this far, but please consider us here.... we have ALOT to offer as a FAMILY TRIP and not just another EF convention.

BESIDES A WEIRDWOLF HERE WOULD FIT RIGHT IN WITHOUT EVEN LOOKING OUT OF PLACE ....

I truly believe that the CBSMF Championship should rotate to a different region each year. Dallas, Vegas, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Kansas City...all good places for it to happen. Spread the love and try to get recruiting from the annual spectacle.

Does Vegas have an Arena football team? If so, the event might coincide with a weekend that they are in town and playing. Arena football is always trying to sell themselves too, so maybe a deal can be struck with them?? Lots of kids go to those games....cheaper events too, more family friendly in that regard. Just thinking out loud.

Don't let us deter you from coming out and enjoying this or any other MFCA convention. You are more than welcomed and if you have squad bring'em and play'em. We would never not welcome you with open arms.

First....Yes, women are very welcome to come out and play and would be very accepted.

I can only speak for my family, but you could have the convention on a cruise ship and my wife would probably not make the trip. A family vacation is just that....our family doing things together which includes me. She knows that if I go to a miniature football event of any kind that, that is what I am going to be doing...playing miniature football while she takes the kids to the amusement park or the beach (not as much fun as it sounds). We do a family vacation each year that involves camping, swimming and all the other family things without any MF. I think that what guys are trying to say is that it is not so much a "MAN"S" weekend as it is a "MINIATURE FOOTBALLERS" weekend no matter what sex they happen to be.

Now with that said, we do need to have something more for wives and kids that make the trip, to do. The Stearn Center does not lend itself to a comfortable visit for the rest of the family. If in a hotel with a great pool and some other recreational opportunities as well as some close by shopping or parks, the family as a whole could meet all their needs.

I think your deadon here Wolf. I believe a hotel setting where everyone could stay is essential, close to shopping, fun activities,etc,etc for those famalies that wish to come. Having everyone stay in the same hotel I think would improve the overall experience for all.

Dont loose sight that this is a positive discussion, if we didnt have the participation there would be no need. Everybody cant be a Chief let the leaders lead, im sure the tribe will follow if they use wisdom & forthought, in the decision making process. Vegas, I might not come back!
