computer assisted miniature football
Seeing several topics about electronic scoreboards these days, I believe the simpliest way to add such features (timing and all informations) should be to create a computer program. So you can display it on a laptop or big LCD screen on major events, for example. I'm pretty sure it should be not so hard to build it in flash action script, for example.
In a few weeks, I'll be less busy, I'll take a look on it. It will also be a good training for me since I didn't code since 2007 I believe My plan is to build a little flash program, with simple graphics, than see with other MFCA members to built the graphic interface of it. We could imagine a software available for free (I will not code anything for business, so it wil have to be free) download for MFCA members (mfca marketing ) , for example. Or maybe someone more confortable with coding could take a look ? Let's speak about the features, etc...

great, it seems that it's exactly what I was looking for. I'll test it and report if you want.
edit : the issue is that the software is not freeware

Hi
ANother MFCA coach made me discover another software, it's more dedicated for soccer and other timed sports (table hockey), but can be a nice base for miniature football too, since we can use as much periods we want, set up the time, import teams logo, background, crow sounds, horn and whatever sounds, etc... You can also put messages on the top of the scoreboard, to indicate the coaches, the tournament, the league name, etc...and it will scroll nicely during play. all the thing is controlled by mouse or with keyboard shortcuts, wich is really faster and easier once we know the keys. The only "issue" is the lack of a 2nd timer for squad deployement, and timeout and down indications. But with a speaking timer, and some field accessories, it remains a great piece of software. I also contacted the author (for now, with no success) to see if he could integrate the special football features (down and timeout indicator, and deployement clock). It's compatible with mac, windows and even linux using WINE (linux people will understand ). Here's a couple of shots. I also posted a complete review on my blog...in french Since you can resize the scoreboard window, it can be a good start point to indicate score on MF videos, if you choose wisely your camera angle (for example you can put an lcd screen on a side of the board, facing the "sky" where the upside camera is...or for a 3/4 classic angle, just put a big LCD screen behind the board...etc, etc...
