Default INJURIES? CHANGE THE BASE!

COACHES,

I read a post in which another coach mentioned using ruined bases on players if an injury occurred. I mentioned this long ago. I stated this would prevent coaches from painting all these addle players in fear 1 may get injured. JUST CHANGE THE BASE ON THE INJURED PLAYER. It should be a mobile base PROVIDED BY THE OPPOSING COACH AND RETURNED TO THE OPPOSING COACH once the injured player tie has ended. 1 qtr, 2 qtrs. or 3 arts. NO SEASON ENDING INJURIES.

This type of base will mimic a player not playing 100%. it mimics a player playing with a

1) Bad hamstring
2) Turf toe
3)sprained ankle taped heavily
4)strained knee

I know many other injuries can occur but these are plastic figures that cannot move without the base. The base represents the figures legs and feet and that is where the focus should lye.

1)base shell (legs)

2) prongs under base (feet)

Any league can create the way where injuries are handled for said league.

1)cards
2)dice
3)any other scenario.

This is ideal because making additional players just for fear of an injury card being pulled is a waste of time, addl figures, paint, decals, facemask and money.

This way

1) The offense can run to the side of that hobbled LB or CB.

2) The defense will not have to key on a hobbled WR or RB, THEY CAN DOUBLED TEAM THE OTHER WR UNTIL THE INJURED WR IS HEALTHY AGAIN.

HOLD ON TO THOSE BASES YOU DESTROYED !!!!!

INTERESTING CONCEPT. But how many bases? And how ruined would they be? Would they still run? also Dre....why couldn't it be just a bag or box of
bases on the sidelines and the coach just randomly pick from the box or bag?

Yes, very interesting.

or, it could be a brand new base that gets taken right off the sprue - untweaked. if you get a base that still runs well, that can mimic a player that plays through injury.

i like this concept alot

Zeek and scott

You both are correct with both scenarios. Either one, or both combined would work out well. But yes, the base still has to move but move not that great.

In fact, that is how i do my punts in solitaire. Have ten tweaked bases in a box
that run at all different levels.

1)20 yards (shank)

2) 40) yards (decent)

3)50) yards (good)

4)60 yards (great)

5)70 yards (booming kick)

6)base that runs backwards to simulate a block

put a punt fig on one of the bases and let the board run for 2 or 3 sec.

This scenario will surprise me on what type of punt it will be.

**But reaching in box for an injured base is a great idea. maybe the a league can collect several from all coaches and test all of them and determine what is movable enough to go into the box.

thanx
mantaraydre.

ps/ I know systems are in place already but it is a pain enough to create a team. To create 15 extra players can be avoided. Also, i stil rather have my star players stay in the game playing injured. " BRETTE FAVRE ". Just played with a broken ankle and is still playing next week. Ruined base from the box, " BROKEN ANKLE ".

I like it! I would opt for a fresh out of the bag rookie base. if you really want to hurt him, put him on an Excalibur base...LOL
