Lamar Hunt near the end
It sounds like this may be the last week for Lamar Hunt. I know some of you think of him as only the Chiefs owner but if you know your history he played a major part in what is now the NFL. The founder of the original AFL and one of the best down to earth people in sports history. Say some prayers and prepare for the passing of one of the great men in football history.

Oh my goodness I was unaware that he was ill. I do know that he was unable to attend the first game broadcast on the NFL Network on Thanksgiving evening. I recall that he gave his well wishes to the Kansas City fans and was sorry that he was not able to attend. He was behind the forming of the AFL and the merger of the two leagues. Ironically the Kansas Chiefs were the last AFL team to win the Super Bowl before the leagues merged. Although the news is sad thanks for the update on Lamar Hunt.

Hunt is one of the nicest people I've ever met. Many here probably don't know that he was also influential in the foundation and the continued growth of Major League Soccer. Hunt owns the league's club in Columbus, which was the first to get its own stadium.
