I agree with everything recapped so far, ESPECIALLY the Strategy Divider!
  • ALL figs allowed - OL/DL = 3.8g; FBs/TEs/LBs = 3.5; WRs/RBs/DBs = 3.2 - anyway you can get it on or off. Pinewood Derby weights come in 1/2g chunks. Everyone needs to buy their own scales to weigh in before their games. Only takes 5mins.
  • 44 man rosters - O dark and D white is a national tourney standard
  • All manufactured bases - 2 boats (any era) MAX - 1 on O, 1 on D
  • 620 sized boards
  • TTQB or PE/PS sticks
  • All footballs allowed, even homemade aluminum spitballs...???
  • Strategy Divider

If we use different weights for positions how does this get enforced throughout the games? Specific numbering system like we have in the NHFL or in the real NFL?

Broadway Dre...man I LOVE YOUR ENTHUSIASM!! Hang in there. We will get to rules shortly but I want more input on what we have so far. It is imporatnt to me that a number of people weigh in on this or it will die shortly after we put it in place.

It is also important that we include influences from all the hotbeds of EF.
Florida, California, Detroit, Washington DC, Texas, Minneapolis, Pennsylvania and the many others that are out there that I did not list. Maybe they are posting and I'm just unfamiliar with the locations of the posters. If more people do not get involved in the discussion then what we are trying to do will go no where.

Every voice is important if you are a newbie or a veteran.

Hey Wolf. I'm from PA. Western PA. as a matter of fact. I have been thinking about this weight thing and why do we have to have a weight limit. I mean get some figures, paint them or buy them already painted and play. Are there actually people out there that would purposely weigh a team down just to win at a childs game! If thats the case then count me out. Just for my peice of mind what does weight do to a figure? Make it stronger. I thought we tweaked a base for that. Do we try and simulate real football? Do we weigh them down to make positions such as lineman more realistic? Please educate! I have never played in a tournament so all this doesn't make sense.

Default player size and weight

guys,

I have been thinking this one over and over again. After careful review of the issue, it looks like it should be 3.5 max

I don't think we should add extra stuff to a miggle/tudor player to get them up to the max. I just think some small alterations to FF.com figures would get them down.

what I have found in my travels, some coaches like to add (buff-up) their players.

As for the divider being used - I can work with that. Some cannot, but it is something to have as a seperate question to gage support or not. Same thing with TTQB vs. Pass Simulation (emulation).

Fields - 620 or larger

Team size - 33 to 50 players total. White/dark issues are not that important except that you need to have both for your team. I really enjoy watching a game and home colors mean just that HOME COLORS.

Default Rules...

Hey, I don't know if this violates my "KISS" principal, but ever think about spliting up the rules by half? In other words, the first half is the "Strategy Divider Half" and the second half is just a blend of the other rules (buzzball/miggle/etc)

or the first half is "one stop" and the second half is "Multi-stop"

to me you could make more people happy, and incorporate more rules if you split it up by half. Coaches then would have to make needed half-time adjustments!

just a thought...

Matt

Here's my thoughts

1) Game boards 620 or larger (with in reason) is fine

2) Any commercially available figure or “custom figure” that fit’s inside the “box” (size TBD)

3) Figures should match the position they play. For example no QB’s on the O line, no guards as wide receivers…

4) Strategy divider optional

5) Weight
a. 3.8 grams max for all players
b. players can be brought up to that weight using lead tape (available in any store that carries golf equipment)
c. weight can be attached to the bottom of the players stand
d. no weight allowed to be attached to the base.
e. player must be removable from the base

6) Any commercially available base, no boiling or cemicallyaltered bases, no cutting of the base, prongs may be manipulated, you can delete prongs but you cannot add prongs.

7) Any football that is currently available (we may need to provide a size and weight on this)

8) Offense in dark jerseys, defense in white. Max size squad 50

Boy that sounds good to me! I am undecided on the strategy divider. When I first got back into EF and before I new anybody else was doing this I made up my own rules and I had my own version of the strategy divider. I understand the wisdom in it but is it something that would be readily accepted through out the US?
