I love the BCS Mombo Jumbo!
I remember back in 1976 watching 'Bama and Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl and hearing Frank Broyles and Ara Parseghian discussing when we would ever have a playoff system. More than 30 years later, I wait for this day to come.
Other than watching my beloved VOLS lose 3 games and any hope of a national title, it did my heart good to have other teams be a part of my "misery loves company" life. It was wonderful watching Michigan, USC, Orgeon, Ohio State, Texas, and the many other great teams go down on the same airplane as the VOLS in flame. It's not because I wish ill for any of these schools but because I have longed wish ill on the BCS! I am happy that Chase Daniel Mizzou team is in the mix. I've officiated many of Chase Daniel's games in high school for Southlake Carroll and now the world gets to see how special of a player he is. Mizzou changed its whole offensive scheme for his talents and it has paid off immensely. While Carroll is a "rich school" which has won many state titles, its good to see this young man be mentioned in terms of the Heisman. But for the BCS, its great to see them have to scramble to fill at-large bids because it just did not play out the way they thought it would. So rest assurred, every team that does not get to play for the national title will cry "bloody murder" after the teams are determined. And just think, teams from the PAC 10 and Big 10 can just sit back, watch, and wait because all the "suckers" are playing each other next week in league championships! If I am Tennessee, instead of annually taking on the hardest schedule in the conference, I would schedule Lil' Abner's school for the sick and shut in, Pilot Point's School of the Deaf, and any other team that will increase my chance at an undefeated season. Cause after playing in that SEC game yesterday against Kentucky, I see no point in playing in an SEC Championship. Georgia is doing itself good just staying at home watching! Down with the BCS and up with a national playoff system! Just my rant. Reg "The VOL" Rutledge |

Yeah Reg....
....It is time for a playoff system, teams are getting equal with talent and I feel that the Champion should be determined on the field and not by computers. It has to be some of the dumbest ---- I have ever seen. The only college sport that doesn't have a playoff. If ----ing Lacrosse can have a playoff why can't football???

Yep, the BCS is BS! The worst part is that one man controlls the whole shebang. If I was the head on one of the major colleges, like USC for instance, I would get the other PAC10 heads together and get them to agree to NOT play in any BCS bowls anymore until they install a playoff system. If the other major colleges would follow suit, then they would get rid of that clown and go to a playoff system.

I think a great playoff system would be for the 6 confernce winners to get an automatic spot in the playoffs, plus the next 6 best teams. Your top 4 teams overall would get a bye week. Too bad this will never happen though. There wouldn't be anymore of your traditional bowl games and the NCAA is all about making money.

16 team playoff otherwise all the mid majors will get completely screwed. Do it just like the division 1AA is doing right now. Start the "playoff" prior to Thanksgiving and end it in mid December to save the players several extra weeks of practice.
Ohio St and the rest of the Big Ten is in the club house while the other teams are still plodding along. Makes no sense. I'm not a huge fan of conference championship games, they're clearly driven by money. Missouri and Oklahoma (again?), Virginia Tech vs BC (again?). Michigan would be playing Ohio State ~16 times over a ten year span if they did that in the Big Ten. Just play 9 conference games with 2 non-conference and then do the playoff for the "big non-conference" matchups. Eliminate the ridiculous 3rd and 4th non conference teams from the schedules and just give em a buy week.

Playoff would be great
High Schools do it all the time. The NCAA and BCS is definitely not hearing anyone on this one but if this mombo jumbo happen several more years, then the school presidents will definitely have to lift up their skirts and do it.
