Default 1977 Cowboys paint help

Hi,

What acrylic paint colors should be used to paint the 1977 cowboys road blue jerseys and pants. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My custom coach Landry awaits his team!

Thanks!

I agree, very cool man! As far as color, i would try games workshop regal blue for the jerseys.

The Cowboys of the late 70s actually wore the same pants for home and road games. The color you'll need is Folk Art - Bluebell

For the helmet you can use Folk Art Metallic Silver and for the road jerseys you can use Apple Barrel - Real Navy.

Mike I like Decal Masters choices for the helmet and jersey, but I use Apple Barrel Blue Stoneware for the pants. Enclosed are a couple photos so you can get an idea of the pants color.

Peace,

Don

Don,

Good looking out on that color for the Cowboys pants. I have added it to my paint collection. My former choice was Folk Art - Bluebell. This one works perfectly but actually works only for the early 70s Cowboys of Ditka, Duane Thomas, and Bob Lilly, before the Cowboys went more to the baby blue colored pants of the late 70s through early 80s.

Thumbs up '77 Cowboys...

Thanks DM.

I'm also taking your advice and picking up some Folkart Bluebell. I'm anxious to try it out.

Peace,

Don

Default The Colors You Already Have J. Jones Looks Good....

But The Cowboys Away Dark Jerseys Were Not Navy, They Became Navy In 1980, And The Numbers And Stripes Were Light Gray, Trimmed With White. The 77 Dark Jerseys Were A Dark Blue, Like In The Pic In The Thread. I Took Blue Paint, And Added Dark Blue (navy) Till I Got The Actual Color. I'm Sorry I Don't Have A Digital Camera To Show You. But They Came Out Awesome...

Apple Barrel - Cobalt Blue.

Same as the current home jersey socks. Good correction. I started to change this but didn't. Thanks for pointing that out. You can clearly see it in the photo I posted.

Good job!
