Putting and End to the Reggie Bush Debate

I have two highlight reels of Reggie Bush from YouTube. Take a look. One from USC and one from the Saints. I am still jumping on this because I hate to see people so quick to speak bad of a player without looking at all the factors. Anyway, forget the team, let's now focus on the individual.

The proof is in the tape. Yeah...Reggie is really a soft football player. (right).

I stick up for him 100% because he dogged us last year in Giants Stadium. I see a player with the potential to be one of the most explosive players in the game.

Now ask yourself: "can my team's starting running back do this?" and that includes Adrian Peterson. When you are half Brian Westbrook and half Devon Hester, your future is looking very bright. Sometimes I wonder if some of you guys really know what you're talking about.

I've said it since Day One, that Gross Rexman is just another Joe in a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG line of horrible QBs in BEARS' History.

BUT...I do recognize the fact that he got us to the SuperBowl last year. Marino went to an SB and lost too, but we all know Rex is not even on the same planet as Danny Boy!

ANOTHER POINT...is that Da BEARS' Receivers led the league in dropped passes, sooooooo maybe it's not all Rex's fault, especially that sure TD that hit Hester in the face. Or was that Orton? I can't bear to look anymore - they all look alike!

Anywho...I didn't make the Pros, Grossman and Bush did, so as fans let's just appreciate the fact that they are there and we get to immortalize them in Miniature, even if they stink one year or the other. And if they play too unbearably bad, then swap 'em out for a Legendary Player. That's what's great about this game we love more than most other things in our lives???

I do not think I could ever question anyone's being soft if they play in the NFL. Except maybe punter or kickers rtfl$
However I do think Reggie Bush is at his best when he has another back field threat , one that can get the tough yards such as MCcalister . Bush compliments Mccalister as does Mccalister compliment Bush. When both of them are in the backfield together , there is a threat of both inside power running, outside on the edge running along with a receiving threat .
I do not think Bush will ever be as good as Tomlinson , he can take it inside 35 times a game if needed be. With that said if you can get Bush in space or even on the edge where he can use his God given ability , he is a special player .
Has anyone ever seen Bush pick up a blitzing LB such as Merriman ?

I feel you Jeff. I'll put my coaches hat on and say that I really don't need my number 1 draft pick Heisman Trophy winning running back in there trying to block Shawn Merriman on a blitz. That's what TEs and FBs are for.

I was just shocked to hear people calling this guy a bust and saying he was soft. Do they even watch Saints games? Apparently not because they love him down in NO. Stop listening to these sportcasters and look at the bigger picture.

Tiki Barber and Joe Morris are the best backs we ever had and I don't think they were as fast or have moves like Reggie Bush. Just appreciate these guys while they are here because tomorrow they may be gone. This is football after all.

Reggie is in his sophomore year in the pros . When I think of the Sophomore jinx I think of Marcus Allen. Seems to me he had a pretty good career !
My point is , if you have a player like Bush, use him for what he is. He is a game changer , a difference maker . I would never ask him to run it up the gut 20 - 30 times a game. I want him on the edge , where if he can make a guy miss he is gone. I think if the Saints had a healthy Mccalister it might have been a different season for them, then again the Coaches seemed to have their heads up their butts for the first part of the season when it came to calling plays.

....The ones that say Reggie is soft or he can't run between the tackles have never had to run between the tackles, so you are just what I said your are, a armchair QB!!! Now with that said, let's line up some cones simulating the in between tackles at a tournament, you run the rock and let someone blow the whistle and let's see if you can run between the tackles. It is a drill that the linebackers and running backs do to separate the pretenders. I will rent the pads. I will be the linebacker and let's see how soft you are!! My favorite "small" RB still playing is W.Dunn (ATL) pound for pound one of the toughest inside runners in football. Go pull up some clips of him and you will see the difference between tough and not so tough.........
