All "One Shining Moment" Team
Whitney Houston reference for you Dre...
I'm always facinated with the guys who showed that "one shining moment" greatness for a year (not just a game) but never reached full potential for whatever reason. Mark Fidrych and Steve Busby in baseball...David Thompson (voted the greatest basketball player in the ACC...better than even MJ) before the Studio 54 incident, etc. Here are some names for football: QB: Bert Jones (seemed to always win, but was always hurt) QB: Clint Longley (he was more of a one game than a one year guy) QB: Doug Williams (USFL cut short the rest of his years) RB: Marcus DuPree (wow, what a stud at Oklahoma) RB: Timmy Smith (proving how great a line the Hogs were) KR: Desmond Howard Other names? |

Kenny King comes to mind. I know he had a great SB, but not sure about his year.
I'll have to think about this one for a while. |

I dont know how long he played for but what about Mike Utley? He was a very good OL for the lions before he had the devastating injury that paralyzed him from the waist down.
