Default Why Mike Robertson Is The Greatest Coach

I had the pleasure of chating with the great MICHAEL ROBERTSON the other day on a couple of items. During the course of our conversation he wanted me to get him the rules for the SEAWALL BRAWL this year. This is a very smart coach who wants to learn the brawl system in advance so he is prepared 100% for the upcoming war. Im going to send him the rules and ask JIMBO AND DON to get a strat divider to him soon as possible. WHEN YOU ARE UNFAMILIAR with a new system, a professional will take the time to learn on there own. There will be no on the job training here. He is walking into the brawl ready from the jump. Those also hoping to compete should do the same. HE IS ALREADY preparing his 3.2 team for the UPCOMING DANCE.
He is by far the greatest coach i ever saw play. his attention to detail is unmatched. Those of you who never met mike will meet the nicest person on earth. I HOPE YOU GUY'S START PRACTICING NOW, you have seen nothing like this when he gets on the field. IM NOT KIDDING !!!!!!!!!

JUNE WILL BE HERE SOON, FOOTBALL WILL BE PLENTY, WHEN THE CALENDAR REACHES 20

START PRACTICING NOW !!!!!!!!!1

Default Dre....

....Let's not jump the gun yet on the greatest coach but he is by far one of the most superior players I have played and I have played quite a few. I have heard Echoes of Oscar Woodard's name and I will see him later this season also. As a matter of fact I have to make a run at the gauntlet in the D because I told Reggie I wanted to play the best and that's what they did too, put me up against the best.

Default Great Coaches Need No Introduction

I acknowledge there are great coaches out there in different styles of play that I have never seen play. I hear of the legend of Don Smith and I know my boy, K-Lo, and know all the guys in D-Town and Philly. I am not skilled at the methods of play in those regions of the country, and again, that is what makes this such a fascinating hobby. Also, I can not forget Adrian Baxter.

Since I can only speak from a Shootout Rules system, there are several coaches that I think exemplify greatness. One is Bryan "Beenutt" Nutt. This guy is the 2007 Shootout Champion. I wish you guys could have saw Beenutt at the Shootout. I have never seen a guy sweat so hard and play with such intensity. There was nothing flashy about Beenutt. He was like Coach Boone in Remember the Titans. He had about 4 plays that he ran over and over and waited on the other player to make the mistake. He played an up and coming coach in the DFW (who defeated Michael Robertson) so we will never know what could have happened with Beenutt vs. M. Robertson.

Another guy, Adrian Baxter! This guy, whenever I see Adrian, I get excited. This is your classic cerebral coach. Baxter can go anywhere and win. He's that good and that ain't no joke! Baxter 'slayed the dragon" when he beat Don Hudson in a semifinal round of the 2006 TSO. Baxter humility was more than impressive. Adrian and I don't talk a lot but he knows I always respect his great accomplishment.

And yes, Mike is a great coach. He's probably reading this post wondering "Why do Reg continue to say this, even publicly?" But it's just an opinion and everyone has one! I think Oscar Woodard is the best coach in the Shootout System that I have seen, period! Many of you don't know Oscar but if you ever get the chance to know him, you will cherish that opportunity. Oscar is called "The Guru" in the DFW. There's a reason!

Baxter and Oscar could probably be put in a room for 8 hours and still would not want to leave after the 8 hours! The similarities are incredible.

I love Mike Robertson's game and he has a brashness, a type of confidence that could come across as cocky. He's just a kid playing what he loves. He's a student of the game who (like Andre said) leaves no stone unturned. Such is the same for Oscar. The biggest difference on Oscar though is that Oscar wins with mediocre talent. He takes teams that are not on the level of what Robertson has and still figures out a way to win. Yeah, great coaches do that but he does this all the time. Oscar exemplifies sportsmanship and fairplay, something I hold higher than anything else in the game.

Mike is like a tiger who rarely ever lets up. That's his personality and that's how he has been trained to do. Oscar will put up 50 on you too but with the lack of talent he has on his team, imagine if he did have superior talent.

Then there's Don Hudson and he ranks high in the Shootout style. No one throws a better deep ball than Hudson. But he's like the Steve Spurrier of the DFW. It's a track meet when playing this guy. And yes, he knows football like the back of his hand.

I think another guy who does not play here but plays in this style that I wish was here is Vince Peatros. Peatros is a great coach and would be formidable here in the DFW. A lot of the same qualities that Mike, Oscar, Don, Beenutt, Adrian, and others who I have seen play in this system bring, no doubt Peatros has as well. But like anything about greatness, remember, they all have to put their pants on one leg at a time too.

Default This Is Just My Personal Assessment Of Mike "that's It"

Coaches of the land

.

This is just my personal assessment of mike after watching him play and speaking with him over the phone. His passion for ef is like no other. i wrote this post as a tribute to him. I was not expecting any responses behind it.
IT'S LIKE ME FEELING HALLE BERRY IS THE BEST LOOKING WOMAN THEN HEARING ABOUT HOW PRETTY OTHER WOMAN ARE. This is just one mediocre coach praising a superior coach. You know when someone is overwhelmingly good, you just sit back and enjoy them and learn. I know there are other greats out there but i never seen anyone like mike. This post was written to let him know he is appreciated for his accomplishments in the game of ef.
This is the same when other NBA players acknowledge JORDAN as the best.
I think reg is great, dc, don, jimbo, hudon, norb, jimmy d and many others, the line goes around the block on this one. But on this day i just wanted to acknowledge mike. Hope you were not offended by this recognition of a great one !

Default Wow!!!

Mantaray Dre! You're Awesome buddy and I appreciate your kind words but you're trying to get me KILLED!!!! Lol

I'm defenitely one of those guys who love to win. I don't like to approach a game unprepared. I leave no excuses for wins or losses. When I approach the SWB I will be as prepared as any coach who has been playing that style for years so if you win you would have definetly been the better coach that day or that weekend.

That's the beauty of the game we play! On any given day or weekend one may lose.

My own mentor believes my approach to the game is somewhat cocky! I disagree with him but it's his opinion. When one wins a lots many tend to believe that one gets a little over confident. I win because I critique heavily the things that I don't do well. I understand what tools I have and work within that framework. I don't shoot jump shots if I have an easy path to the basket. I took my bumps and bruises and lost many of games in this league so I don't feel that I am above the league nor do I feel that I am above any player that I have had the pleasure of meeting in this great hobby! I'm not a kid anymore, maybe to Reg. because he's my pops but I'm 30yrs of age. I win because I have a recipe for success. Its not bullet proof by any means but it does work for me.

However, I'm just like any other player here! I'm human! I enjoy reading press clippings of myself, my team and my style of play. I enjoy ready the good and the bad. Thebad motivates me and the good, well you know feels good!

All the coaches that Reg has mentioned in our league and across the country are fabulous coaches and all very good friends of mine and if we meet whether I lose or win it would have been a great experience.

I hope no one takes offense to any of the coaches opinions on this message. I feel that Reg Rutledge is the best coach and he wasn't even mentioned. I tutored under him for many years. That's how I learned the game. Why he stuck so much interest in me I will never know but I thank him for that. I'm sure many others feel its Vince Peatros, or Keith Chalmers, or Don Smith, or Adrian Baxter, or the late Great One Dirk Thomas. Whomever you feel it may be you're entitled to your opinion. Much like the NFL that title will change hands from year to year. The Patriots are that team this year, several years ago it was the Dallas Cowboys, The Giants, The Redskins, the Bears! Heck it could be anybody next year! It just an honor for me to be in the class of those guys!

Mike Robertson

Default Manataray, You Gotta Know...

when you write, people listen. Heck, I know I do!

Not downing Mike. I love Mike. He's my son. That's how I view the whippersnapper. And he know's I feel on Oscar. I tell him that all the time.

I love your opinions. I respect them so greatly. And yes, you've got one. I get excited when reading your post!

And I know how you view Mike. I think he's the greatest too! It's a great thing being surrounded by guys who play the game at such a high level. Hopefully, Mike can make it back to the Super Bowl so you can see what he's made of.

Last week, he lost a game to one of the "next to arrive" guys, Carlos Brown. Mike went 5-1 and he was dissapointed. I told him that was a heck of a weekend and just be happy. The regular season for him is not as important as building towards the Super Bowl.

But 'Dre, I just ain't gonna let these guys take my trophy. They will be in for a war!

Reg

Default Cmon now Pops!!!

Reg.,

I must tell the world of you now...You created the warrior inside of me and now you you look at your creation and say "he's out of control and must be stopped." lol

I remember earlier this year before the season started you and I would sit up late discussing and undefeated season. We both had visions of that. We both had visions that we would be the first 2 coaches in the history of the league to face off in the super bowl unbeaten. So of course a loss on my part was unacceptable! I'm never happy when I lose but I'm humble in defeat! My opponent was on his game that weekend and I took nothing away from him. My post game comments to him and the referee and others around the league were that of great admiration for him and what he accomplished against us! It was an all out war!

However, you're just as guilty of this quiet cockiness as I am and most successful EFLers have it as well. Don Hudson of the DFW league surely has, Vince Peatros without a doubt has it, Dirk Thomas had it, Norbet and all his 89 trophies has it, DC Smith Jr also has it. Thje greats have it! That's the truth!

Default reg, WHEN I ADDRESS YOU IN MANY POST I START WITH

LORD RUTLEDGE, OR THE KING REG RUTLEDGE !!! Those 2 phrases speak louder than a post of 1,000 words. What else can you say after calling someone lord or the king. Any other word behind those are just window dressing. Your one of the heads of the 5 families of electric football.
When you talk of being too accessible, you have to be. JUST REMEBER AT THE SEAWALL BRAWL ALL THAT GATHERED AROUND THE TABLE TO WATCH YOU MAKE CUSTOM FIGURES. You should feel honored mike is thought of as a great coach because you taught him. The great dc smith feels he has CUS DAMATO IN his corner, well your ANGELO DUNDEE ! I want to arrange a meeting with the members of the 5 families to do big business. This wasy more and more greats can be developed.

WALLY JABS OUT OF NEW YORK
JIMBO DUNAGON OUT OF CHICAGO
DON SMITH OUT OF VIRGINIA
REG RUTLEDGE OUT OF TEXAS
SMITTY AND SEAN OUT OF B-MORE (HOME OF THE GREATEST TV SHOW EVER CREATED "THE WIRE')

WITH THE GENIOUS OF YOU GUY'S, WE CAN MAKE A GREAT COACH FACTORY !

THIS GAME IS ONLY GOING TO GET MUCH BIGGER, COACHES SHOULD STRIVE TO GET TO A LEVEL THAT IS ASTRONOMICAL. I just feel mike is there already.
Im going over to wally jabs house this weekend to learn a few thing, i fell this will put me on my way.

BOTTOM LINE ALL COACHES, THE GAMES ARE GOING TO GET HARDER AS TIME GOES ON AND COACHES FIGURE OUT WHAT WORKS BEST FOR THEM. ALL IM SAYING IS "BE READY ON ANY GIVEN FUNDAY !!!!!!!

THE REOCCURENCE OF GREATNESS IS UPON US MY FRIENDS. I PLAN TO BE THE BUSTER DOUGLAS OF ELECTRIC FOOTBALL VERY SOON. WE WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO PLAY IN TOKYO JAPAN .LOL

MANTA OK. DRE
