Default Congrats To The Spark Bowl Champ

MY SINCEREST APOLOGIES TO KYLE NUTT, THE 2008 MIGGLE SPARK BOWL CHAMPION, FOR NOT RECOGNIZING HIS FEAT.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

If the kids are our future, we gotta do a better job of lifting them up and putting them in the spotlight more often. I pledge to work on that, not only in The Seawall BRAWL Kids' Championship, but also by collaborating with NODave for next year's Miggle. I don't think the kids should play 2nd fiddle to the adults, but the other way around!!! They need their own time slots.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF THE LITTLE PEOPLE. - Jimbo

Default Congrats to Kyle

Kyle, I had the opportunity to check your game out a little and I was most impressed by the way you handled yourself in that tourney. Even though you were down by one, I think ,you could not see any signs of panic when you and the other Kyle were playing. You both did an excellent job at competing and playing with a ton of composure. Keep on playing like a champion guys and congrats to you Kyle Nutt for the championship. I was truely impressed.
Bryan,it was great meeting you bud. I always thought you were a great guy,and after meeting you, I was even more impressed.

Thumbs up Sparkbowl Champ...

Kyle,

Congratulations on your victory in the Sparkbowl Championship!

Bro, you're a really good kid, and I'm sure both of your parents are proud as punch of all that you do. I've seen you and your dad together at different tournaments and watched you grow up over the years. You guys remind me of the days when D.C. and I used to go to tournaments together. Man how I miss those days. Keep doing what you do, and I hope to see you in June.

Take care,

Don Smith

Default proud of my son

I just wanted to express how proud I am of my son Kyle for winning the Spark Bowl at Miggle. Kyle Nutt played another Kyle - Kyle Poprocki. Both Kyle's played an unbelievable game.

Both Kyle's came and asked me if they could play an entire game for the championship instead of just the four plays. After seeing how well both Kyle's were playing in the previous games, we said "go for it". Ira came by about half way through the first half and said this was against Miggle rules to play an entire game. But, after much begging from the kids, Miggle gave in and let them finish a regular game.

The kids played a running 30 minute clock with no timeouts. Kyle Poprocki held the lead 9-0 at halftime after kicking a 40 yard field goal on the last play of the half. In the first half, Kyle Poprocki made a great 60 yard run for a TD and his defense was incredible. In the second half, Kyle Nutt scored with 7 minutes to go in the game and made the two point conversion. Kyle Poprocki had to punt with 3 minutes left and Kyle Nutt drove to the 20 with 40 seconds left. It was great to see Kyle Nutt run the hurry up offense to get in scoring position. Then, Kyle Nutt set up for a 37 yard field goal on the last play - GOOD: Kyle Nutt 11 Kyle Poprocki 9.

Contratulations to both Kyle's for playing an outstanding game - you both look like you have been playing for 20 years. Also, congratulations for playing the first full game in the Miggle kid's championship - maybe this will become a new tradition for the kids.

Default That was awesome!

I saw the final field goal and the final "drive", as they are now calling it in Spark Bowl lore. You have every right to be very proud of Kyle, he showed great pose under pressure and both youngsters wanted the win badly. It was a great game and a great day for the event...and it was also an intense game. The intensity was in the air and could be cut with a knife.

Hats off to Kyle Poprocki...this was his first trip to Miggle and boy...they have some talent in the Charlotte, NY league.

Below... I got a great photo of Kyle's last drive and an even better one of the "moment" when he nailed the field goal...

Great job guys!

Default That's What I'm Talking About!

Excellent recap, Matt. I had no idea that that's what happened. all I knew was Kyle (Nutt) won. I was to involved in my own games, unfortunately. Great to read how both Kyle's played picture perfect strategic games, kicking FGs when necessary. GREAT STUFF!!!

And again, Congrats to the Final Four. I have a feeling we're going to see and hear (and read) a lot abouth these Four in the years to come.
