Default Ideas for the tweak...

Hey guys... i just got my first issue of the tweak and love it. The only thing i was thinking, at least coming from a new person to the hobbie, is some background on items. Maybe a break down of the old bases, and bases that were made stonger and performed better, players that performed better, stuff like that. I have no clue really what i'm looking at when it comes to vintage bases about which are good bases and which aren't. Maybe also a breakdown on older boards or whatnot. I did love reading about the different players, and different leagues around america. But a little more advice stories would be much appreciated, at least in my opinion. Anyways, keep up the good work, cant wait to get my next issue.

Default Thanks for your ideas

Some very good feed back...thanks. As for bases, in the very first issue that came out last summer, Norbert did a great piece on all the different types of bases. If you go to www.miniaturefootball.org and click on Tweak past issues you can download the magazine and read the article. He really does give a great review and ranks the best to worse bases. An article will be coming soon about how to build your own board and the history behind the boards. Check out the fall issue as well...there are a lot of painting tips and strategy tips for guys just getting back in the sport.

I aim to please and I am open to all ideas!

Default Idea for the tweak

Matt I have couple of ideas for the Tweak.
1. How to on some of the more difficult poses with any figures FF.com, Buzzball etc.
2 More plays Offense and Defense.
3. Highlights from some of the MFCA leagues. Playoffs and Championships.
4. Upcoming innovations for the game ie the new TQB & Tkicker, laser makers, Chain gang.

These are some of my thoughts. Maybe some other coaches can add on.

Default More great ideas!

Do I have a volunteer to write an article?

Those are some great ideas! Ideas #1, 2 & 4 I am going to look into. Chris Franco volunteered a month ago to do league coverage of Championships and playoffs for us for the next issue, but he got little to no response from leagues from around the country, so #3 is a work in progress and I would like to make it a big part of the magazine, but we need more cooperation to get it done. Guys are either to busy or not available, which is understandable. We do feature atleast two leagues in each issue, so the reader can get to know everyone a little better.

Thanks for the feedback

Default I'll Do Playbooks!!!

I'll do 3 plays per Issue, Matt. You saw my Counter Trap on youtube last year, and if you were in Detroit, you saw a Counter Lead from my '85 BEARS. I have over 100 Run Plays alone in my Playbook; about 50 different Defenses; and 12 Special Teams plays. AND THAT DOESN'T INCLUDE COLLEGE!!!!

Gimme the deadline for the next issue and hold onto your headphones!!!

man alive... i'm lucky if i can get my guy to run towards the line of scrimage

cant wait to see what you guys have cooked up.

quick question though... when i hear people playing zone defense and they set there guys to spin in a circle, are you allowed to addjust the dial when the board stops? or are you only allowed to point them in a new direction?

Default Depends

...on your league's rules. Almost every league allows the Defense to adjust their unengaged players after a Completed Pass. If it's a Run, then again most leagues say your stuck, unless they allow audibles. Here in the MWEFL, we allow the D to stop the board if and after a RB gains 10yds. Then they may "react" to the RB. In Solitaire, it's your league and you run it anyway you want. Just make sure you don't allow any cheaters into your league. Every last one of them in my solitaire league is a liar AND a cheat!!! They say they wanna play a "for real" game with stats and everything, then a few plays later they're crying "let's just scrimmage a lil bit!" I mean, c'mon! Make up your freakin' mind!!!! Game or scrimmage? If they're winning it's a "game," if they're losing it's a "scrimmage." Whatever. I don't know why I bother anymore.
