Bill,

FOB does not present a lot of problems as long as everyone involved does it or calls it the same.

Most of your league, as I have followed it, does more running than passing. That makes it a canidate for trying FOB during the off season to get a fill for it.

You could also do a 50/50 rule ... FOB on runs and AT on passes......
... Still your guys league so do what you need to get the fun back......

Default Fob .... Abc

Larry sue,

We are currently playing FOB in the college league, ........and yes I think it brings out the controversy bug............

As I stated before we have it only for RB's on running plays, even if the QB runs, it's abc for him..........

I will also state we have had some BIG run plays with this as well.

Default FOB Watch Closely

As I said earlier in my last post concerning this topic, FOB tackling is one idea that I think can help to speed up the game.

I consider FOB to be any part of the bases’ front ranging from one corner of the front to the other corner of the front. If the defender contacts any part of the ball carrier’s base using any or the entire front of his (the defender) base, a tackle is made.

At times, there will be what I call nip touches. That’s when a very small portion of the defender’s base front grazes or nips the ball carrier’s base. They usually occur unexpectedly. They are hard to call especially when the game is being played on a really live board.

One of the ways that I catch those types of touches is I look for the slightest pause in movement or deviation in direction of the ball carrier. Tackles made directly at the back of the ball carrier’s base vary in occurrences due to a number of scenarios. One scenario would be unobstructed forward movement of the ball carrier in relation to the time the defender arrives at the point of attack (base-to-base contact). Speed ratio between the pursuing defender’s base and ball carrier’s base plays a role as well.

There are other times when the switch itself can determine if a tackle is or was made simply by quickly turning the switch on and off when base contact is close, but uncertain.

Overall, you should be paying close attention to the game every time the switch is on.

Default With Respect to All

I have read this post over and over again, trying to get a better understanding of what you're looking for.

I'm not trying to upset anyone, nor do I wish to come off in a bad manner. I know that some of you will think, " There he goes again " " Who cares " and all manner of negative thoughts.

It is my intent to help. Every things that you guys are looking for has been done already. But because some of you don't like me, don't understand me, you will not even try it.

As much as I didn't want to do this second responce to this post, I have to put my personal thoughts and feeling aside for the better of this hooby.

Every thing that you are looking for is built into my work.

If someone comes out with new men, bases, decals, boards you all will try them out no questions asked. You spend $20,$30,$40, $50 or more.

But now that there is a system that takes care of all you're game issues you will not even try it.

All I'm saying is you don't have to beat you're head on the wall trying to figure out how to add this and that to the game to open it up etc.....

Think about this, ...........

Out of all the coaches who have my DVD, have any of them had any negative thing to say about it ? NO they have not

The running game, passing, kick off, kick off return, field goal, tackling and much much more.

Just think about it !!!!!!!!!

Or some one start a post asking all who have my DVD to give you there opinion on the areas of the game.

I want you all to enjoy the beauty of the system as it was ment to be the answer to all the questions you have ever had.

Hope this post doesn't up set any of you, I just want to help.

Hey Anthony... You don't ever have to apologize for trying to "sell" your system.. That's your passion and when it comes to EF.. kinda your job.. lol

Ya.. We've gone round on the method at times.. but .. there's nothing in your presentation above I've quoted to get upset about..

Bottom line for us.. We're trying to recruit new guys.. from the young who have never played EF before to someone who didn't realize it was still around.. AND.. make it more fun..

And the MPFL system.. Incorporated completely.. Is just too much for a newbie to take in.. I'm sure we already use some rules that are "MPFL inspired".. We still have our NHFL and TAEFL rule books with us at all times when we play in case there's a question..

That's not to say that we will never play the system, if and when we get a dedicated core of guys who wanna try something different than what we are doing.. And I finally get to put together some of the big boards.

And right now.. after having not played an EF game nor tweaked a single base since April '07.. I feeling pretty "newbie" myself.. Wish me luck cuz if I don't get up to speed pretty quick.. it's gonna be a long season for me..
